This November, we voting Americans are faced with the choice of change in Barack Obama or four more years of lies, war and gross mismanagement by John McCain.
As far as I am concerned, there is not a choice at all because this country needs a change from the Bush policies of the last eight years more than at any time in modern history. The Bush years have been the most disastrous for the U.S. than any one event, past administration or scandal experienced since we became a sovereign country.
Over the past 8 years we have witnessed a manmade disaster on 09-11, 2001 which killed more people than the attack on Pearl Harbor, subsequently invaded and occupied two countries, had two deep recessions, one of which we are still experiencing and will continue to for a long while, watched this President and Vice President enable their business buddies to make billions of dollars in ripping off our so called friends in Iraq, and seen the United States become a country of clowns in the eyes of other nations instead of the tiger that Bush and Cheney thought we would be. However, when one is wrong about as many things as this Administration is, it surprises no one.
The scary thing is that Bush and Cheney are not as stupid as most of us would like to think they are. These people are the masterminds behind the 9-11 attacks because a brilliant plan of theirs was in the making since George H.W. Bush was in office. The Gulf War of 1991 was a simple test by the Senior Bush to gauge the reaction to the U.S. actually fighting a war in Iraq and the Mid East. The happy greetings the Iraqi people gave us in '91 was expected this time around, but with all the lying this Administration had to do just to get us involved in Iraq again, they overlooked the fact that America wasn't welcome there anymore. Thus, even though the Bush Cronies are making billions of dollars, the U.S. has become bogged down in a conflict that cannot be won.
The surge of troops that John McCain praises so much as a winning idea is also a losing proposition because as soon as troop levels drop, the violence against American soldiers and the American proxy government there will drastically increase. We here in the U.S., while sitting on the couch and drinking beer, listening to CNN do not realize that the whole mindset behind the violence in Iraq and Afghanistan is directed at our occupation of these countries. The citizens of these countries do not hate Americans per se, but hate the American government for taking over their countries.
No one in their right mind should vote for a candidate such as John McCain, who promises four more years of the same, and this Barbie Doll he has chosen for his Vice Presidential pick shows how stupid he thinks the American people are in figuring with her he can capture some of Hillary's disgruntled voters.
All we hear from the McCain campaign is how inexperienced Barack Obama is, but J.M. has no more experience at the job of president than does his rival. Nobody has experience at being president but someone who has been president.
J.M.can preach to us about his war record making him the right choice all he wants, but as far as I'm concerned, this makes him more unelectable. I would not want a man who has been a prisoner of war to be the Commander in Chief of Swaziland, much less the U.S. The overwhelming stress that comes with the job of President could make a man who has been tortured as a POW start having flashbacks and go insane. It is a little too risky to trust a man like this with access to the Red Button.
We have only one choice for president in November, and that is Barack Obama.
