Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel juxtaposed with Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden. A week ago in an interview with Zeit magazine former German Chancellor
Angela Merkel admitted the Minsk cease fire agreements of 2014-15 to settle the
war in Eastern Ukraine was only meant for Kiev to buy time and become stronger
instead of implementing the accord which Germany and France had drawn up. [1] Remember Germany and France were the two countries supposedly most
interested in ending the war. Now we find Minsk was just a ruse. What's important to realize what Merkel's admission says. How can one trust
the West's true intentions when it agrees to an accord. In negotiations between opposing but equal sides compromise by each of them
is necessary for an eventual agreement to be reached. It's supposed to benefit
each of them. That's what the nuclear armaments treaties between the US and the USSR did during the
cold war. All have since expired except the New Start treaty between the US and
the Russian Federation with regards to further reduction and limitation of
strategic nuclear arms. However all the other nuclear treaties have not been renewed, allowed to
expire by the US. Then of course Trump in
2018 reneging on the 2015 nuclear treaty with Iran. The point here being agreements reached between the western European
governments and the US with Russia and its Donbass allies have not been worth the paper they're
written on. (Note: You can view every article as one long page if you sign up as an Advocate Member, or higher).
