Our President- Elect is a good man.  Good people are rare and among politicians they are endangered species. The very fact that the national mechanism spilled out a good man  to  govern tells us about the time: those are dismal to say the least. Our  nation  is experiencing a convulsion. Same convulsion as it  experienced in 1861 when a good man Lincoln came to power or in 1932 when FDR took the office.  There seems to be  the  law  of the human society-  when times demand good men are there.  We should  be very  happy for that feature  of Humanity.

Good man, what does that mean?  Evil people  always claim to be good ones. I am sure if we ask GW or Cheney privately  they would  consider themselves good people, they would say yes.  John McCain seemingly was going to ‘defeat evil’ in his unfortunate rant during the interview with the pastor.  Of course, Sarah Palin and Laura Bush,   Ronald Reagan and  even Richard Nixon would have  vehemently defended their ‘goodness in heart’. Michelle Bachman, that abomination  in  skirt had just demonstrated that ability  in all its unfortunate power.  They all  think they are good.

Not Obama.  All his  life, all his achievements, all his demeanor proves to those who want to see that he, being a cognitive person is permanently in self- doubt.  He evaluates and reevaluates himself again and again and  most likely among those criteria there is one- would he look in the eyes of Sasha and Malia if only they knew..  Lincoln was like that and FDR and that is the ONE AND ONLY specific feature of the good person: you know  that  you are nothing but human,  you know that  your cause is just and you take responsibility for your actions including the simple thing that goodness is  not for you to define. It is the privilege of the people.  As I said, Lincoln and FDR did not  consider themselves good people.  We the People defined them that way. And the criterion  is SERVING US.

Obama is a good man in my eyes and he is on the road to prove that goodness to the people of America, our nation. This is the nation which is bitterly divided, insecure, arrogant, dangerous, anomalous, full of problems and reeling from the abuse. What would be the first step of a good man?   National security,  of course. But what is that?  How  can we feel secure? Logic  dictates unequivocally that the ONE and only way for the nation to feel secure is for the people to know that the services and offices appropriate  actually  do their job  to protect us, all of us, that they are professionals,  that they are loyal to us, the people and that they earn their money honestly and lawfully SERVING US.   That’s what we need.  And that means we are the employers and they are our employees, not  vice- versa. National Security is the security of  the people, not of  the govt and not  of the officials.

In practice it means that  we need good people  to serve us. A good man is at the helm now and he must show an example.  He thus  has to   find, cultivate, breed the  good people,  cadres, honest, cognitive professionals to come out of the closets where they’ve been hiding since Bush and Co. had  destroyed the very fabric of the professionalism. We NEED THE POWER OF THE QUALIFIED! WE NEED HONEST PEOPLE IN ALL BRANCHES. WE NEED REAL DIPLOMATS, REAL INTELLIGENCE PEOPLE, REAL MILITARY, REAL GOVERNMENT. Institutions do not matter. People do. The time of delusion is over. Honest work for honest pay is again the primary slogan of  America.   The good man is at the helm. Give us our National Security. We need it.
