"There is no rule of law in Rwanda! . . . If you want to keep us out of the elections, and you want to get 99% of the vote, then you have to say it! Enough is enough! We are going forward! We are not going back!"
--Interim Rwandan Green Party leader Frank Habineza

On 10.31.2009, the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda's fourth attempt to hold its founding convention was shut down, violently, in Kigali. BBC Radio reports:

The international network of Green Parties, continue to await pictures of the Rwandan Green Party's fourth attempt to meet in Kigali, and further news of those Rwandan Greens who were injured, or imprisoned, and of those who have gone missing, in the aftermath.

The Green Party of the United States has created a web page for news, links, activist alerts, and images of the Rwandan Green Party's struggle to emerge.

The Green Party of the U.S. is most urgently obliged to speak out for the rights of Rwandan Greens, and all Rwandans, because Rwanda is the U.S.'s closest ally in Africa.
