Lowery will also be "officiating" at the Inauguration, doing the
benediction. The media never mentions this!
There is also an LGBT group participating in the parade. ALSO, word has it that Obama is choosing anOPENLY gay man to become Navy chief of staff.
An image that came into my mind tonight was that of the Chinese finger
trap. You know, you stick your fingers in to each end of the trap, and
then try to disengage them. The more you pull away, the more impossible it
becomes to get free. The way you solve the problem is by pushing your
fingers together. It's counterintuitive, but it's the only solution. To
me, that's a metaphor for Obama's approach to setting us free -- pushing us
closer together first.
Put another way -- after the way Bush has dissed us all these years, is
there ANYTHING he could say that we'd listen to? ANYTHING he could do that
we'd approve of? We don't TRUST him! He never cared if we trust him. He
basically just ignored us, and we've hated him for that. If we set up that
same dynamic with Obama and the right, all we've done is traded places, but
we've not moved forward. Let him show them he's not an arrogant, indifferent
ogre, like Bush has been to us all these years. I think it will make a
difference.
