US President George W. Bush has deliberately avoided arresting or killing Osama bin Laden as according to reports, so many times the security forces received the information about the whereabout of this dreaded terrorist, but they gave him the safe passage. Under a plan first Afghanistan was given to terrorists and then they were shifted to tribal areas situated on Pak-Afghan border.
The statement of Barack Obama that he would go after Osama bin Laden if he receives the information that he is present in tribal areas of Pakistan has been welcomed by tribesmen. Majority of tribesmen have endorsed his statement and assure that they would fight along side the US forces against terrorists.
Obama says: "It is time to turn the page. When I am President, we will wage the war that has to be won, with a comprehensive strategy with five elements: getting out of Iraq and on to the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan; developing the capabilities and partnerships we need to take out the terrorists and the world's most deadly weapons; engaging the world to dry up support for terror and extremism; restoring our values; and securing a more resilient homeland. The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan."
The statement of Barack Obama has brought heat to war on terrorism. Now the security forces of Pakistan, after realising that the new president of the United States is serious in war on terrorism, have started an effective operation against terrorism. Now terrorists are on the run as tribesmen have also taken up arms against them.
There will be no denying the fact that the stand of Barack Obama has been endorsed by the people of tribal areas, who have suffered a lot at the hands of terrorists. There are reports about the presence of dreaded terrorists in tribal areas. Majority of tribesmen want Osama bin Laden to be arrested alive.
