This evening at 7:00 there's an event worth noting. "Code Pink", the group that's been at the forefront of the ant-war, anti-drone movement, will hold a candlelight vigil outside the White House asking President Obama to return the Nobel Peace prize he was awarded in 2009.
Considering el presidente's latest misadventure sending fighter jets, bombers, drones and attack helicopters against ISIS in Iraq and now Syria, his retaining the Nobel Prize for Peace is beyond ironic, it's an insult and an affront to what the Peace prize is supposed to represent and more in tune with Orwell's "war is peace" illogic depicted in his dystopian "1984" novel.
The man who vowed to end the wrongful war in Iraq is back at it, now vowing "no American troops on the ground"-just some 3,000 military "advisors" assisting a proxy Iraqi army we spent billions to train and arm, only to see whole Iraqi army battalions throw down their weapons, abandon their tanks, armored vehicles and artillery, cut and run rather than take on the ISIS militant jihadis.
Only a month ago he said sending arms to Syrian farmers and clerks-"vetted" as "friendly's" in their fight against Syria's Bashar Assad-would have no chance against the seasoned ISIS fighters which he characterized as a "fantasy".
But its not just Obama; he's just a pawn used to do the bidding of his corporate masters.
It's the whole diabolical national security surveillance state, the big banks too big to fail, a trillion dollar defense industry and their massive horde of private contractors and mercenaries, big oil, gas and coal extraction industries and the whole edifice of corporate behemoths and billionaires that benefit from endless war along with the CIA doing its part, acting as horrific catalyst to keep the world unstable while the NSA keeps electronic surveillance tabs on everyone in the world.
Obama long ago betrayed what integrity he may have had, earning his law degree, becoming a constitutional scholar and Harvard law professor, later a Chicago community organizer, state senator and with oratorical skill a senator from Illinois then gaining the "mirage" of power in the White House.
Betrayal is the appropriate word for what has happened in "official" Washington and the gradual erosion of a representative democracy that has descended to become a plutocracy which hides behind a Constitution it routinely ignores which is a mere impediment to get around.
Meanwhile the people's interests are left to wither, fed propaganda and made fearful by dissembling politicos and corporate paid talking heads bloviating from some corporate controlled, faux MSM.
Now it's a new war or better yet the latest phase of an endless war against whatever new "enemy" is out there to be demonized and contrived as the latest threat to America and Americans.
There aren't enough adjectives to describe its sinister nature.
