Now that Ricky has quit the GOP circus, primary turnout numbers are declining faster than Mittens' Cadillac elevator. Mitt can't muster a shrug from even the most rabid right-wingers, so he's considering an appearance on Saturday Night Live to spice up his campaign. It's hard to imagine what skits they'll write to make him appear, well, human.
The New York Daily News reports:
"'I want it to be funny,' Romney told Diane Sawyer late Monday. 'Of course it would depend on the nature of the skit.'"Appearing on the live sketch show could be a stretch for Romney, whose attempt at off-the-cuff remarks on the campaign trail have led to gaffes on everything from the number of cars he owns to the number of NFL owners he knows.
"However, it could allow him a chance to further "unzip" -- as his wife put it -- and show off what his friends and family claim is a hidden funny side."
Is America ready for Romney, unzipped? Sounds kinda creepy. But if Steve Martin would return to reprise his "Wild and Crazy Guy" with Romney in the Aykroyd role, then that might be something to see.
Also, what is up with the Teabaggers' war on poor people? As if the War on Women wasn't bad enough, now they want to eliminate food stamps and public assistance for the working poor? Are they as heartless as they are brainless?
