I am positive that people are becoming far too wrapped up in the political definitions and not wrapped up enough in the political suggestions of vilification vs. canonization. With this recent controversy over the mosque in the same region as ground zero, I've seen quite a few people attempt to remove some of the political vinegar from the situation by constantly stressing the point that this ground zero mosque it not really a mosque at all. Some describe it as a community center, a store, and even an art gallery. Look, it does not matter how you describe it to the fear mongering opposition, because simple minds get made up in simple time; meaning, I don't care what you call it, or how you describe it, if my grouping calls it the face of evil, then that is what it shall and must be!Â
So in reality, this alleged mosque could be a pizza parlor, a strip club, or an Islamic, hot dog stand; either way, the opposition is going to dig into to their resistance pit to fight against it; similarly to the way the right has dug in to fight against President Obama. The true injustice is not the labeling of a structure. It is the perverted dragging through the slandering mud of a belief system because it fails to live up the self-preserving expectations of another belief system.
What we are witnessing here is an outright, all-out, political, theocratic assault on Islam! This is most definitely about more than some inconspicuous mosque/community center buried within the buildings of the New York skyline. One could make the Islamic based argument that this cloaked assault on Islam is just a sheepish way to declare a half-assed, jihad-based resistance against all Muslims, in and outside of America. Whether that's true or not, the argument could be made, and its believers could be given their propaganda marching orders; the same way that supporters against the mosque/community center have been given theirs.Â
Do you honestly believe that other nations around the world, especially in Islamic areas, are not intellectually and politically gifted enough to see the fraudulent silhouette of the "We're not against the mosque/community center?" It's just in a bad location. That's all. No hard feelings Akbar. Just, as Tom Petty would say in one of his classics, "Don't Come Around Here No More," which translates into, "We're better than you! We don't like you! Stay away from our precious children! Be sure and keep your Muslim children away too! We don't want our children exposed to anything Islamic, including its people! My God is an American citizen like me, not some illegal immigrant/foreigner like you! My God is better than your God, and he'll kick your God's ass! And the ever popular and always insulting, nothing that we do is ever wrong, while nothing that you do is ever right!"Â
As I've learned from experience, you can't verbally or ideologically assault someone or something's character, and then expect all of its supporters to understand when you say: "I've done enough good deeds around the world that I should be afforded the luxury of taking my fair share of verbal shots at anyone's belief system, and the world should just be cool with that," but most sane people know that you can't bop the lion on the head just because you feed it.
I think I'm going to become a Muslim, not because I believe in it or any other religious faith, but just because I can. It's my Founding Father, big government, liberal right to do so; just to make a point, because religion has to be one of the most, if not the most, cherry-picked, ideological trees of all-time and quite possibly the most corrupted as well. Religion is the river of God/faith that has been muddied and polluted by the fearful mortality of man, because there are so many who suffer from the arrogance of right. I think it is the most corruptible element known to humanity.Â
Everyone seems to want to own the right part of it, but no one will admit to owning the arrogance that comes with it. If you are convinced that only you or your grouping owns the absoluteness of right, then I am convinced that you have just bought yourself a one-way ticket onto corruption airlines, because there is nothing more corrupt than the corruptness that believes it is above and beyond corruptness. Just because you believe in something, it doesn't make it right for all; just right for you, and just because you participate in something, that does not make it incorruptible, and it could definitely blind your acknowledgement of its corruption.Â
You're never right when you embrace the arrogance of right, because it is the arrogance of right that makes it wrong. If there is true righteousness that does exist, then it will have to exist beyond the comprehensive grips of our mortality. We can't even find all of the answers or truths surrounding the world we live in, so what on earth makes any of us believe that we can map out the finalities of beyond, and then make reasonable judgments based upon them?ã ‚¬ ‚¬
And for the record, I'm not becoming a Muslim. I'm not becoming an organized Christian either. I just plan to do my talking to the beyond in my own tongue--that's all.
