Attorney General Eric Holder
U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20530-0001
Dear Attorney General Holder,
I have personally witnessed the political prosecution of the finest man that Alabama has ever or will ever produce, Governor Don Siegelman. Our Justice Department has become a cancer in our great nation due to these corrupt, Bush-appointed, US Attorneys. From Alabama to Wisconsin, from Mississippi to Pennsylvania and all across this country we have witnessed and documented for years the political prosecutions of innocent people by these vile and vengeful prosecutors led by Karl Rove. There have been hundreds of American citizens who became victims in the well-known pursuit by Republican operatives to use our justice system to try to create a permanent Republican majority.
President Obama has stated that we need to move forward and that is certainly true. But we as a nation cannot heal until this cancer is removed. I am pleading today for the firing of the remaining Bush-appointed US Attorneys, especially Alice Martin of the Northern District of Alabama and Leura Canary of the Middle District of Alabama. Water under the bridge is one thing, blood on ones hands is quite another, and there is blood of innocents all over the hands of these two women, including one of Alice Martin’s latest victims, Alabama Legislator Sue Schmitz, an outstanding teacher of the finest character.
I am also asking that investigations into high crimes by the former administration take place. We need to prosecute the people who turned our democracy into a dictatorship and ripped our Constitution to shreds in the process.
Please move forward with a commitment to remove the remaining 51 Bush-appointed US Attorneys who have been nothing more than political operatives working within the justice system, who have put their politics before justice.
Sincerely,
Pam Miles
