Doggonit! It wasn't Sarah Palin's fault that she lost. It was that mean Liberal media dontcha know!?!
A new interview reveals Sarah Palin's feelings regarding her failed Vice Presidential campaign. The interview is the brainchild of John Ziegler, a conservative media personality who intends to make the point that the media was unfair to McCain and Palin and too easy on Obama.

The interview is an obvious attempt to cast Palin in as favorable a light as possible and further the goals of his upcoming documentary "How Obama Got Elected". One of the centerpieces of the documentary and the website of the same name is a single poll of 512 McCain and 512 Obama supporters by John Zogby that purports that McCain/Palin supporters were better informed than Obama supporters, both ticket's supporters knew more negative things about Palin than anything else and that the media is responsible for both issues.
Despite this favorable atmosphere, Palin comes off mostly as she had throughout the campaign; uncurious, fake (intentionally lacing her dialogue with folksy phrases), and not close to being ready for one of the top two jobs in the country. Where Palin is different than during the campaign, the differences are not improvements. At times, Palin whines about her treatment by the media, at other times her anger and embarrassment at developments during the campaign show through the tight smile meant to conceal them.
As I opined, Ziegler intended the interview to make Palin look better than she had during the campaign, but he fails miserably. Palin churlishly attacks the blogosphere, Katie Couric, Caroline Kennedy, John McCain and McCain campaign decisions, Tina Fey, etc. Palin also makes the bizarre claim that it was her social class that caused her to be attacked and that is why Caroline Kennedy will not be attacked. Sorry Sarah, ‘uncurious’ is not a social class.
Palin’s whining attack on the blogosphere is funny stuff for anyone who spends even a typical amount of time online. She attacks the blogosphere for containing rumors about her family. Earth to Palin: the blogosphere contains wild conspiracy theories and personal and family rumors about every famous or well known person on this planet. Many if not most are much more vicious than those that were written about you and yours. If you have any doubts, check out www.PerezHilton.com for a rough introduction. If you want to see nasty things written in the blogosphere about Obama and one of his family members, have no fear; just put the following phrase in a Google search:
"Michele Obama" site:freerepublic.com
Someone who cannot handle this should not be running for President or Vice President and by whining about this to Ziegler after the campaign, Sarah; you are showing you cannot handle this.
Palin’s odd response to Ziegler about why she could not give Couric any examples of newspapers or magazines she read is vintage Palin. Palin manages to come off as stupid and bitter at the same time. “Katie, you aren’t the center of the universe”. Such an inane comment makes one want to grab Palin by the shoulders, shake firmly and say, “Sarah, you were on her show to be interviewed. That means Ms. Couric asks you questions and you answer them. If you didn’t want that, you shouldn’t have gone on the show. Asking you what newspapers you read is not a tricky question. It involves little more brain power to answer than a question regarding whether you brush your teeth every morning.”
The dumbest thing Palin said was that she would have been treated differently if she had been Obama’s running mate. The problem with that statement is that Democrats do not nominate uncurious intellectual weaklings for Vice President or President. No Democratic President, Presidential nominee, Vice President or Vice Presidential nominee has had problems answering questions about complex topics. The last three Democratic President elects have been:
Barack Obama – President of the Harvard Law Review
Bill Clinton – Rhodes Scholar
Jimmy Carter – Top 10% of his class at the Naval Academy
Those are the kinds of people we Democrats envision as being on the ticket. These three Presidents and their Vice Presidents have won two Nobel prizes. How many Nobel prizes have the last three Republican administrations won? Zero.
This interview is likely to be only one of a series of attempts to reform Palin’s image in the public as a prelude to a future Presidential run. Palin and her handlers can save themselves a lot of time and grief if they are honest with themselves and realize that she is never going to be up to the job and the American people will never believe that she is. Palin should recognize her limitations and concentrate on jobs that are within her capabilities. I hear World Championship Wrestling is looking for a new wrestling manager and Tonya Harding is searching for a new opponent for a celebrity boxing match, you betcha!
