It seems many prominent Republicans refuse to heed the advice of RNC chair Reince Pribus and other party architects who beseech their political pawns to stop already with their obvious obsession over women's ladyparts. Last year's outrageous "legitimate" rape comments and proposed legislation about forced vaginal probes and heartbeat laws and condescending remarks about squeezing aspirin and God-ordained rapist pregnancies and magic ovaries that stop rapist sperm proved wildly unpopular and severely damaged the Grand Old Party.

Speaking at an anti-abortion rally in Washington DC that drew thousands of misguided Teabaggers, John Boehner vowed to "make abortion a relic of the past." These elephants, it seems, never learn. Huffington Post has the story:

"As hundreds of thousands of people braved sub-freezing temperatures in Washington, D.C., on Friday to join the anti-abortion protest March for Life, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) took the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to banning abortion in America for good.

"Addressing the crowd at the National Mall via video broadcast, Boehner said it's time for anti-abortion activisits to 'commit ourselves to doing everything we can to protect the sanctity of life.' Step one, he said, is making permanent the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal dollars from being used to pay for abortions except in cases of rape or incest.

"'For the new Congress, that means bringing together a bipartisan pro-life majority and getting to work,' Boehner said. 'In accordance with the will of the people, we will again work to pass the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, formally codifying the Hyde Amendment.'

"Boehner said he will make it a national priority to 'help make abortion a relic of the past.'"

Failed GOP candidate Rick Santorum was also in attendance, proving he never met a fetus he didn't want to take home and cuddle.

So tell me, Boehner, what does a "relic of the past" mean to you?  I know what it means to most women.  Coat-hangers, fatal infections, bleeding to death in the bathtub, chemical poisoning, babies stuffed into dumpsters ... these are the relics of the past Roe vs Wade sought to overturn.

And it is high time you Neocons practice what you preach, isn't it? If you are pro-life, why aren't you hypocrites clumping up together in the streets to stop gun violence? Why not ban guns, which make fully-formed human beings dead every single day, many of them school children? If you care so deeply about the sanctity of human life, why not fight to ban guns along with the same zeal you seek to end privacy rights?

Are guns so much more precious than women in your mini-minds?

Kathy never expected a career in radio as a talk show producer. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy was completing her nursing degree when in 2001 - in an emergency - she was asked to fill in as the producer of Mike's program. Within a few (more...)
