Modern elections barely resemble those of the mid-nineteenth century
American culture, in style, voting methodology, or media presentation.
In the era of print media - civility was far more common than witnessed in
today's scorched earth wars between carnivorous candidates clawing their
way towards the chair of the Chief Executive.
Voice of the Voters is pleased to bring to you a voice with profound
knowledge of that era of the body politic and the atmosphere of the
elections. Harold Holzer is Senior Vice President for External Affairs at the
Metropolitan Museum in New York, and author of 31 books on Abraham
Lincoln and the Civil War era. He has additionally authored hundreds of
articles in both academic and popular publications. Mr.
Holzer's newest book, "The Lincoln Anthology" is to be released in early
2009.
Following Harold Holzer is a familiar name to the Voice of the Voters
audience, Richard Hayes Philips PhD. Dr. Philips recent release, "Witness to
a Crime: A Citizens' Audit of an American Election", is a seminal work on
the 2004 presidential election in Ohio, revealing suspect results at best,
and a stolen election at its worst.
His latest observations of the 2008 election reveals more of the same
mischief in the form of "phantom" votes. Learn how this specific election
scam works, is detected, and how you can and should respond.

Harold Holzer, Senior Vice President for External Affairs at The Metropolitan
Museum of Art, serves also as co-chairman of the U. S.
Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, and is the author, co-author, or
editor of 31 books on Lincoln and the Civil War era. Among his award-
winning works are The Lincoln Image, The Lincoln-Douglas Debates,
Lincoln as I Knew Him, Dear Mr. Lincoln: Letters to the President, Mine
Eyes Have Seen the Glory: The Civil War in Art, The Lincoln Family Album,
and with Governor Mario Cuomo, Lincoln on Democracy, which has been
published in four languages. His latest book is the fall 2008 release Lincoln
President-Elect: Abraham Lincoln and the Great Secession Winter 1860-
1861.
In February 2009 he will publish The Lincoln Anthology, a Library of
America collection featuring 150 years of great writers on the subject of
Abraham Lincoln, and co-edit In Lincoln's Hand, a Lincoln
Bicentennial/Library of Congress catalogue featuring high-tech
reproductions of Lincoln's own manuscripts with commentary by
distinguished writers, leaders, and artists.
Holzer has also written some 400 articles over the past 35 years in both
scholarly and popular publications, and contributed chapters to
25 additional books. He has won awards from the Illinois State Historical
Society, the Civil War Round Tables of New York and Chicago, and the
Lincoln Groups of New York and the District of Columbia. In addition to his
writing, Holzer lectures throughout the country. His program "Lincoln Seen
and Heard," with actor Sam Waterston, has been nationally broadcast and
staged from such venues as the White House, the George H. W. Bush
Presidential Library, the Clinton Presidential Library, and the Library of
Congress. He also appears frequently on C-SPAN, PBS, and the History
Channel. He recently filmed a segment for the forthcoming PBS
documentary Looking for Lincoln with Henry Louis Gates, and will be a
regular on-air guest during the two-year C-SPAN observances of Lincoln's
200th birthday.
He has also served as guest curator for a number of Lincoln art
exhibitions, including several shows at the Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne.
And he serves as guest historian for the upcoming show "Lincoln and New
York" at the New-York Historical Society.
