The Superbowl was a great event and I enjoyed the last minute and down to the wire passes, fumbles and touchdowns. It reminded me of politics. It seems that we have these two teams, the Patriots and the Traitors. I am rooting for my home team, the Patriots and am very much against the Traitors.
Now don't get me wrong. I am not suggesting that either of the real football team members are traitors. I am saying that those members and citizens who are presently not on the winning team, those politicos, and conservatives who are inflexible and resistant to change are acting like the Traitors.
It is obvious that our country has gone down the wrong road. The Patriots, the heroes who voted for Obama are here to save the day. The majority of the American public has decided. But there are others who are not interested in helping the country, only themselves and their money managers. Either they are confused or they are not trying to save the country; they are trying to sink it, and that is why I call them Traitors.
They are not interested in saving the Government of the United States of America because those who give them money to do what they do are not Patriots; they are Traitors. Their fortunes depend upon the failure of our government. In the words of one of their coaches, Grover Norquist, they want to shrink our government, make it so small that they can drown it in a bathtub. To me that is the talk of a Traitor, the talk of those who are enemies of our government and our country.
Talking points can be good when their ideas are creative and promote our common good, and proven facts are pertinent when it comes to making decisions. Making decisions using facts is what any Patriot must and should do right now. But the Traitors lose their game when they rely on unproven facts and propaganda that is neither tested nor fruitful. They especially lose their game by playing old strategies that failed.
It is the now fourth inning and our team has the ball and we need a touchdown to win the game. We have to ask ourselves, "What is the best way to win this game? Do we do it the same old way that did not work before or do we go with something different, something that we think might work better.
It is game time and here comes the other team, the Traitors, the losers, who have tried everything they could to win the game and it failed. And they continue to use the same techniques. Their coach has been fired, their good team members have been bought off by other teams and they still persist in their losing strategies. They go before the people and play the same old game, the only game they know and frankly, they do not look so good. And guess what? They are still losers.
If you vote for the Democrats, the Patriots, you will be a winner. And right now, the Republicans, most of them, not all, are the Traitors. Don't kid yourself. It is time to take sides. Go Patriots!
