Shirley Sherrod Incident and WH's fear of Criticism shows that the Public still has Power

Top Clinton administration official Robert Shapiro said in the Financial Times last week regarding Obama's growing credibility crisis, "The bottom line here is that Americans don't believe in President Obama's leadership. He has to find some way between now and November of demonstrating that he is a leader who can command confidence and, short of a 9/11 event or an Oklahoma City bombing, I can't think of how he could do that."

Two observations can be made from this statement 1) America's political hierarchy includes people who think that failing to stop a massive terrorist attack from happening (assuming it wasn't government sponsored to begin with) somehow paints a picture of successful leadership, and 2) that the public's growing revulsion for Obama's actions as the President are becoming so evident that those from within the DC establishment have no choice but to address it...essentially throwing him overboard like good little pirates in desperate hope of saving the sinking ship.

Though indviduals if asked would state their own particular reasons for why they no longer believe in Obama's leadership abilities, all of those reasons can be summed up by stating the obvious he's not a statesman, he's a politician. Although the election's over and he's won the highest seat in theland (besides those surrounding the Bilderbergers' meeting table) everything he does is done purely with politics in mind. That's because campaigning and winning elections is the number one job for those who occupy the modern American presidency.

It is not to protect rights or defend the Constitution, but to sell the agendas of unseen interests, making sure that a substantial majority of Americans fall in line. Because the two-party machine's grip ove rAmerican politics is so tight, elections are no more than an audition for those seeking office, their ability to shepherd the people towards the real power elite's goals gauged by the amount of personality driven hype they manage to generate. In this contest the mainstream media acts as the referee, providing assistance to those puppets who show they can be the best salesman.

But now that America is starting to wake up, even the best sales people are proving to be less effective.

Does the White House Knee Jerk React? by mashup of images

If showing true leadership is what Americans now desire, then the current administration's handling of the Shirley Sherrod incident this week has done everything but demonstrate it. This is just one example of how politics frame the actions of the current White House. From hastily demanding Sherrod's immediate resignation out of fear of political fallout, to spinning and rehiring her after she came out about the incident in order to bury it, the administration has shown how much it fears any unforseen criticism. By speaking out about what happened to her, Sherrod has taken the upper-hand over Obama.

This shows that to find true leadership Americans must look to themselves. The current state of our nation is the consequence of our own abdication of our responsibilities. Instead of taking our world seriously and seizing upon our roles as the owners of our republic, we have chosen the path of least resistance by believing the convienent lie that we are small and that people we have never met, whom we are told know better than us, are more suited to chart the course of our nation...even if it means breaking promises and practicing open deception.

The fact that the White House cowers out of fear of public perception, as the Sherrod incident has proven, shows just how powerful Americans could be if more chose to take a position of strength instead of weakness; to think of themselves as the rulers instead of the ruled. To not look to kings who are themselves subjects trapped within the confines of their falsely diafied positions beneath the secret oligarchies they serve but to their neighbors and themselves, realizing that their own actions are more powerful than the phony proclamations of those they see on TV. Though many Americans shudder inside the comfortable belief that thei rown voices and actions mean nothing, at this point in history the rulers of the world still feel the need to keep the political show going out of fear that the fog may lift and that Americans might realize they stand taller than the men they once blindly bowed to.

If Americans are to get the leaders they want, then they will have to become them. Otherwise they will only receive what they have received...personalities set up to herd the American people, not serve them.
