"KABUL, Afghanistan -- The following children froze to death in Kabul over the past three weeks after their families had fled war zones in Afghanistan for refugee camps here:The United Nations says 35,000 people are living in the Kabul camps, with only tents and mud huts for shelter. It was the coldest January in 20 years. More Photos -
- Mirwais, son of Hayatullah Haideri. He was 1 ? years old and had just started to learn how to walk, holding unsteadily to the poles of the family tent before flopping onto the frozen ridges of the muddy floor.
- Abdul Hadi, son of Abdul Ghani. He was not even a year old and was already trying to stand, although his father said that during those last few days he seemed more shaky than normal.
- Naghma and Nazia, the twin daughters of Musa Jan. They were only 3 months old and just starting to roll over.
- Ismail, the son of Juma Gul. "He was never warm in his entire life," Mr. Gul said. "Not once."
It was a short life, 30 days long.
These children are among at least 22 who have died in the past month, a time of unseasonably fierce cold and snowstorms. The latest two victims died on Thursday.
The deaths, which government officials have sought to suppress or play down, have prompted some soul-searching among aid workers here.
After 10 years of a large international presence, comprising about 2,000 aid groups, at least $3.5 billion of humanitarian aid and $58 billion of development assistance, how could children be dying of something as predictable -- and manageable -- as the cold? "

Kids Freezing To Death In Kabul. A U.S. Christian President Ignores Them ?
Eight years [then, ten now] of children starving and freezing to death in that area of Afghanistan occupied and controlled by U.S. troops. Jesus said for us to feed the hungry and clothed the naked. So why don't the American's do so in Afghanistan? Is a superpower unable to do so? President Bush was a Christian, President Obama is a Christian. Why does the U.S. ask someone else, the UN to do it as charity? Americans caused them to freeze."
During the commercial breaks of the Superbowl telecast, if conversation should turn to the US economic depression and its causes, there might be talk about how much the continuing war is costing the American people in terms of money, but how many Americans care about what the U.S. war is costing the Afghani population in terms of lives lost, destruction, fear, and bitterness engendered by the foreign invaders? Since 2001, children have been starving and freezing to death in that area of Afghanistan occupied and controlled by U.S. troops.
After ten years a lot of the children who didn't freeze or starve to death are old enough to get slaughtered fighting against the US-European conquerors of their beloved country.
Right now Americans seem to be indifferent or supportive of wars in six Muslim countries, turning a blind eye to the CIA and its five Middle East branches covert operations of violence in Syria and a deaf ear to threats to attack Iran. As consummate example, the Occupy Wall Street movement is careful to make no issue of the occupation war in Afghanistan, and although yours truly was invited to read, with peoples-mike echo, Martin Luther King Jr.' world shaking sermon "Beyond Vietnam - a Time to Break Silence" on Christmas Day's Occupy Christmas (covered by all the networks and AP), during all meeting's attended including that of Occupy Faith (attended my mostly clergy) all suggestion or call for the US overseas wars be made an issue was rejected - up to a week ago attempts at least.
The many articles your archival research peoples historian activist has had published by OEN have not occasioned much interest at all judging by the very very few comments generated, their provocative title notwithstanding. [see appended titles below]
No Afghani Ever Attacked the US, UK, EU, Australia or Anywhere Else
"Americans have been killing Afghanis for 8 years. And in 1979, President Carter attacked the women's liberating socialist Kabul government by covert funding, arming and training fundamentalist hill tribes who did not want their daughters in school. Brzezinski correctly advised it would scare the USSR into coming to the Kabul government's defense. That no Afghani ever attacked the US is unimportant. Neither did the Vietnamese."

Obama Is Responsible For Slaughtered Afghanis. No Afghani Attacked US
"On Harry Truman's desk a sign read "The buck stops here!" Truman accepted responsibility for even his vilest acts, "Bush mass-murderer!" cried the US peace movement which imperialist media has now anesthetized. Whose fault these massacres? US airmen? Afghani fighters defending against invasion as they always have done? Jimmy Carter for suckering in Russia? Ronald Reagan for supporting Taliban? Bush for invading?"

Shooting Handcuffed Children. The Word Swine Comes To Mind
"Burning an effigy of Obama and the American flag, Afghans have taken to the streets over the execution of children, ranging in age from 12 to 18, who were pulled from their beds by Special Operations forces in the middle of the night, handcuffed, and shot. Karzai demands foreign troops responsible for the killing of 10 civilians be handed over to the custody of the government. US insists that the victims were armed militants"

34,000 Additional Troops Not Worth the Life of One Afghani Child
"Think back on childhood. Childhood will have been just as precious for each next Afghani child destiny choses to be sacrificed by a U.S. holding on to control of oil rich Central Asia. 34,000 more troops? Nothing to be thankful for. Al Qaeda watching as the U.S. alienates world opinion, and brings it more recruits from among older Muslim children wishing to prove themselves as brave sons of their aggrieved and angry fathers"

Carter Funding Fundamentalists to Sucker Soviets into Afghanistan a History Channel No-No
"No mention of President Carter having secretly funded, armed and trained the fundamentalist hill tribes, attacking a modern women emancipating government in Kabul, in order to sucker the Soviets into entering Afghanistan SIX MONTHS LATER in History Channel special on fundamentalists in Afghanistan. Cover up of now documented presidential homicidal crime by conglomerate owned entertainment/news industry is our shame."

In "Charlie Wilson's War" Carter's CIA Funding Islamic Terror to Sucker in the Soviets is Left Out
(11 comments) "Charlie Wilson's War could have won an Oscar in a category Best Public Deception. Film hides Carter's having secretly funded, armed and trained the fundamentalist hill tribes, attacking a modern women emancipating government in Kabul, to sucker the Soviets into entering Afghanistan SIX MONTHS LATER. Photo of men lying face down, hands wired behind their backs à ± the caption reading "Teachers executed for having taught girls."

Marines Taliban Killing Hunt - Shoot Afghans in Afghanistan, but Wright is 'Outrageous'
"CNN: Marines invade a village long under Taliban 'control', (Taliban provincial administration), caption - "Marines on Taliban Killing Hunt!", next -"outrageous" Wright quoting Bible on terror coming back to those who use terror, accusing the U.S. of using terror. Not new, media vilified Rev. King condemning U.S. genocide in Vietnam and a murderous foreign policy worldwide. What is new an anti-war personality on prime time!"

How Many More Lives Will Obama Take to 'Protect' Us From What Jimmy Crater Began?
(18 comments) "While we are 'being protected' from what President Jimmy Carter created in Afghanistan in 1979 - by Obama sending additional troops to war and bombings in Pakistan, - let's remember Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.' counsel, that today's occupation wars should be seen in context of imperialism and predatory capitalism. And not forget! It didn't start on 9/11/2001."

$2,000 for a dead Afghan Child, $100,000 for Any American Who Died Killing it.
(2 comments) "Shocking? Shame provoking? Embarrassment for the discrepancy betw the value of an American soldier's life and the the value of lives of people in US forcibly occupied countries? In imperialist America, there is no interest in such 'war casualties,' considered 'inevitable' as a popular Obama continues to react violently worldwide (except in Saudi Arabia) to a 9/11 attack by Saudis. Obama not value AfPak kids equally as his own?"

Imperialist Media Hails Democratic Elections Under Murderous US Occupation
Once Bush II gaffed, "We cannot accept that there can be free democratic elections in a country under foreign military occupation". Slipped his mind Afghan and Iraq elections were being held under violent US occupation. Colonial democracy? Human rights? Not even the right not to be suddenly blown to pieces. Real freedom for the dead. That NO Afghani attacked the US or elsewhere unimportant. No right to fight US & Co. invaders
