The “liberal” media is in the throes of its greatest challenge – getting Sarah Palin elected. In the past they have had to rely on the corporate vote counters to finish the deal, but they had done their part in keeping the polls close enough so the counters job could be accomplished.
Now they have to reach their goal without the assistance of the vote counters in order to show their masters they have reached the top of the propaganda machinery, but the job will not be an easy one as Sarah Palin, although not in the political arena very long, comes with a huge amount of political “baggage” that needs to be dispelled, minimized, and made to look like a positive.
Omission appears to be one of the tactics they will employ from the start. While nobody is accusing the media of being true investigative journalists it makes their job that much easier as they can simply ignore things not appealing to their case while zeroing in on the talking points given them by their handlers.
While the Neo-Conservatives have either failed to notice or are just so full of hate toward anybody from the Democrat side don't care to notice, pound out their attacks of hatred toward anything they are against, the media follows their lead.
The Sarah Palin campaign is a shining example of the dumbing down of the American people. The “Liberal” media continues to pound out the talking points given them telling us how qualified she is because she is the Commander in Chief of the Alaskan National Guard, a role that governors in all states has had stripped from them by George W. Bush when he illegally took them and sent them off to Afghanistan and Iraq, thus leaving our soil without their services. Therefore, while the media propagandists continue to pound out her Commander in Chief role, they cannot mention one time when she had to exercise her command duties. Most likely the only time she has had any contact with Alaskan National Guard troops was in her “build her image” trip to Afghanistan in 2007. A trip which necessitated her having to get her first passport.
In selling her on experience in foreign relations the media outdid itself when they told us how sitting across the table from townspeople when she was Mayor of a town of 6000 would be much tougher than having to sit across from Vladimir Putin one can only roll ones eyes in disbelief.
The area of strong family values should appeal to the Christian Conservatives. However, there appear to be some potential problems with that. First, we are told how Sweet Sarah is a strong proponent of total abstinence before marriage, yet when looking at her own situation several questions arise. We discover that on August 29, 1988 she eloped with her present husband, which is fine, but on April 20, 1989 she gave birth to their son. At least two hands are necessary in the counting of months on this one, but only eight fingers are needed. That may well imply the elopement was due to being conceived prior to being married. Of course her first born could have been pre-mature and that would explain that, but the fact is no media gerbil has even questioned it, but are simply ignoring it so it doesn't conflict with her “sound moral values.”
Then we have the scant tales of her supposed recent birth of April 2008. There are indications the child is actually that of daughter, Bristol. To dispel that Sweet Sarah, rather than protect Bristol, threw her to the wolves by announcing she was now 5 months into a pregnancy, conceived out of wedlock. It is difficult to imagine a mother exposing her daughter to that type of embarrassment rather than simply coming forth with evidence, such as doctors' visits, test results, and so forth, to prove the child was hers.
In reality there is much evidence that might show that child in fact was NOT hers. For example, none of those who worked with her on a daily basis were even aware she was expecting, she tells of flying back from Texas while suffering labor pains, yet the flight attendant states she saw no signs of discomfort from Sweet Sarah. Daughter Bristol was taken out of school five-eight months prior to the birth of Trig due to having Mono. A picture taken during that period might indicate Bristol, not Sweet Sarah is expecting:
I know Obama has made it clear the children and families should be kept out of the campaign, and I agree. Sweet Sarah is the one who embarrassed her own daughter to save her own skin. That's a great family value!
Earmarks appear to be Sweet Sarah's trademark. Yet, they're following the neocon line of saying the opposite of what you are doing or proposing, then have the media propagandists tell the people that what you are doing is actually being done by your opponent. That way when you do it the dumbed down populace will think it was actually done by your opponent. That is a tactic taken right out of the Germany 1930's playbook, and with the aid of our corporate media propaganda machine, it works today in America.
Another story that could be brought out in this saga is the lack of leadership of his own party possessed by John McCain. It is commonly known that Joe Lieberman was McCain's choice to join him on the ticket, yet Sweet Sarah emerged as the “victor.” So much for the power within his own party. Sweet Sarah has been groomed for this role since before she became Governor of Alaska. Her lack of experience is the challenge of the corporate media.
Yet that lack of experience is should also be a stumbling block because in that short period of time and limited experience there is a huge amount of baggage, much more than I have mentioned in this brief article. There are numerous examples of “flip-flops” or lies that are being kept from those wanting to learn more about Sweet Sarah. Instead, when a question arises about her past we are given examples of Obama's relationships with people like Ayers and Rev. Wright. The old German tactic of attacking your opponent to get the story away from you.
It would appear if one had the credentials, one would want it to be known rather than simply attacking your opponent. If you are strong, why not bring out your strengths, rather than attempting to make your opponent look weaker than you. Prove yourself to be stronger.
Unfortunately, Sweet Sarah has a problem doing that. Too much baggage.
