THOUGHTS ON 9/11

Message Sally McMillan

The buildings towered o'er the city.

Such a pity, such a pity.

The people there could touch the sky.

But not to die; no, not to die.

The plane flew low to crash in fire.

Please fly higher; oh, please fly higher.

The shock, the screams, the terrible fright

It isn't right; it isn't right.

First the one and then the other.

It makes you sick; it makes you shudder.

The people stare in disbelief.

The world is plunged ini instant grief.

The concrete crumbles; the buildings fell.

This is...this is...this must be hell.

Soon rubble covered all the street.

Didn't they know that life is sweet?
