Did you hear the one about the Mormon and the gay comedian?
Finally, there's a reason to vote for Romney! He's tapped Richard Grenell, a witty gay man, to be his spokesman for national security and his foreign policy adviser. Grenell was a foreign policy wonk for the Bush administration as a communications director for the US Ambassador to the UN ... and he knows his way around a tweet, too: "Newt: My 1st Lady knows what it's like to be 2nd and 3rd..." and "Callista stands there like she is wife #1," later adding: "Do you think Callista's hair snaps on?" And he described Rachael Madow as a "dead ringer for Justin Bieber," and suggested she should "take a breath and wear a necklace."
Ba-da-dum! Since his appointment by Mittens, 800 of his tweets have mysteriously disappeared, sorry to say. I'm sure there were many gems among them.
What fun this is going to be! First Romney tickles the Hispanic vote
by hangin' with Rubio, now he's teasing the Log Cabin Repubs with this
wicked pick! Mitt must've decided to screw the Santorum conservatives
altogether with these latest moves. One thing's for sure, the
uber-social-conservative Neocons are NOT happy with what they consider
to be the utter thrashing of the Christian faith by this appointment. (As if Jesus hated homosexuals or something ... but that's another
show). According to the Canadian Press ...
"Bryan Fischer of the Mississippi-based American Family Association described Grenell as an 'out and loud gay,' adding that Romney's appointment of him was a 'message to the pro-family community' to 'drop dead.'"Fischer was still at it on Monday, tweeting that the Secret Service prostitution scandal proves Grenell poses a risk to Romney, apparently equating gay men with johns.
"'Romney's gay hire would serve in his administration in national security,' he tweeted. 'You want to tell me there's no Secret Service-type risk here?'"
Gay men are a security risk? Uhm ... why? Fischer continued his hate-filled bigoted screed on CNN this morning:
"'The real issue here is for Governor Romney and what he thinks about homosexual behavior,' Fischer insisted. 'My complaint about Governor Romney all the way along is not that he's Mormon, but he's not Mormon enough.' The Mormon Church believes homosexual behavior is sinful and that homosexual acts are offensive to God. So the question that needs to be asked of Governor Romney, do you agree with the teaching of your Church? If you do -- that homosexual acts are offensive to God -- then why have you made the face of your campaign someone who engages in conduct that your own Church says is offensive to God?"
Gotta love it when they start eating their own. Now Mittens next needs to nab a lesbian Wiccan midwife/abortion practitioner to be his adviser for Health and Human Services and a pro-legalization Greenpeace member to advise his Energy policy. Heck I might even vote for him, then.
