Hillary and her captive Democrats are panicking. She is hysterically assuring the MSM press stenographers that her delegate advantage is "insurmountable" and her nomination inevitable and Sanders should just throw in the towel like a good sport and join her cabal in the sacred name of solidarity. The DNC is desperately offering Sanders generous representation on the convention platform committee if he will just cease and desist his march to end the reign of the Neoliberal Capitalist Hydra and exposure of the false dichotomy long disguised by staged arguments between its two American heads.
Hillary only leads by 274 pledged delegates, with 931 yet to be decided within a month. Sanders has surging upward momentum while Clinton is dragged ever steadily downward by the weight of attention to her flagrant imperial warhawking, her serial violations of international law and the sovereignty of other nations in submission to the capitalist elite, the overhanging threat of indictment as data hemorrhages from her unsecured private email server on Honduras, Libya, Syria, Haiti and Ukraine including Clinton Foundation scandals, as well as gross negligence in failing to safeguard highly classified government information, and a lawsuit charging campaign fraud in New York that could potentially require a primary re-do in that delegate-rich state.
Breaking developments in any of these could force withdrawal of her candidacy or damage her electability enough to spook super-delegates into abandoning her sinking ship to avoid drowning in the political whirlpool of its wake. If Sanders simultaneously pulls significantly closer or even neck-and-neck in pledged delegates and continues to poll much more strongly than Hillary against Trump, what choice would the supers have? Dragging Joe Biden out of obscurity to flout their own voters will? It would appear that Clinton wants a quick concession as a hedge against these contingencies, but Bernie has no reason to grant it.
Flouting the will of millions of their voters would complete the self-destruction of the Democratic Party, while the Republican Party self-destructs by nominating a complete novice to public office qualified by little more than supreme narcissistic arrogance, demanding to start at the top. Forgive my cynicism, but collapsing the whole grotesque duopoly and starting again from scratch might not be such a bad idea.
After rebooting, we might consider trying Qaddafi's Libyan model of multi-tiered direct democracy that we destroyed, including gender equality in education and employment and protection of minorities. Libya had achieved the highest per capita GDP in Africa and used its nationalized oil wealth to provide free universal health care and free public education through the graduate level including study abroad with living expenses - which Sanders critics ridicule as impossible - in addition to interest-free public banking, free water, free electricity and subsidized housing which Qaddafi believed were human rights.
He had proposed extension of their successful secular, socialist model to the entire continent, including a pan-African bank and pan-African currency backed by his 144 tons of gold (we must wonder what happened to that). This is almost certainly why he and his nation were destroyed under Hillary's State Department, and his killing gleefully proclaimed by Hillary, "We came, we saw, he died!" Paraphrasing Julius Caesar may reveal her fantasy role model. If so, we need to remember that Caesar destroyed the Roman republic to establish its empire.
What else do voters need to know about Hillary's character, whose interests she serves, and how trustworthy is our public media that spoon-feeds us demonized images of our prospective victims? This also validates the potential power of choosing egalitarian visionaries informed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as our political leaders. A fresh start might begin with President Sanders, elected if necessary as an Independent.
