"'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy."
(Lewis Carroll)

The art of the magician is to hide his intention by making you think that you understand how the trick is done. Then and only then is he free to deceive you, your certainty becomes his weapon. When the rabbit appears out of the hat or our card is shown to us we are astonished, not because the magician has deceived us but because we have deceived ourselves. Politics is not much different than the magic trick, we are shown a box on a the stage and have it explained to us that this is an ordinary box. Great lengths are gone to to express just how normal this box really is and it is made certain to us that there is no escape from the box.

Then the magicians lovely assistant then goes into the box in handcuffs or blindfolded and one, two, three she escapes. You were set up to believe something that was never true in the first place. It was a play, a side show, a freak show, punch and Judy, Mitt and Rudy!

In the Soviet Union, the Communist Party picked all the candidates that stood for election. The candidates were beholden to the Party for higher office not to the people. The box was fixed and the elections were an illusion. The Party would then anoint two candidates, a hard liner from the old school and then a younger person who might be seen as a political reformer. The election itself was just so much abracadabra. See, the system works! A reformer was elected and a new day was dawning except that it didn't matter who won the election. The choice that was given was a choice between French fries and curly fries.

Had the hard liner had won the narrative would have been, See, the system works! The people are happy with the way the government is functioning. In the end nothing changes the election was merely a vehicle to deceive you into thinking that your voice counts. That somehow Mr. French Fry represents your interests more than Mr. Curly Fry. The election is a show, staged for your amusement, an epic staged every four years like the Olympics.

In the year 2000 Candidate George W. Bush with the cooperation of the Supreme Court usurped the Presidency assisted by the votes of two justices with family members working inside the Bush campaign. There were no riots in the streets or rebellion, a lot of grumbling perhaps, but when you corrupt a government and subvert its Constitution that's to be expected. In 2004 we saw a repeat of the old rabbit out of the hat trick. Free and fair elections? Sure, pick a card any card! The public was becoming pretty discontented by this time as the Bush administration had cut taxes for millionaires, created wars out of lies and whole cloth, instituted repressive measures against the populace and then crashed the economy going out the door.

Remember that anyone anointed by either the Republican or Democratic Party as their candidate for President is going to garner 35 percent of the vote automatically. The Democrats could nominate Charlie Sheen for President and Lady Gaga for Vice President and still collect 35 percent. They would lose the election of course because our reality is even stranger than that fiction.

In 2008 Barack Obama came from out of nowhere and was presented to the American public as a strong principled, decent man. Complete with his own log cabin story of being a community organizer, Barack slew Goliath and now he wants to save America from the evil Republicans. He was presented to the American public as a great reformer and a champion for the middle class. Get it? Holy Bandersnatch Batman! Now kids get out your secret Batman decoder ring, the first letter is O followed by B next is A then M and the last letter boys and girls is A. Did you get the secret message boys and girls? If not, let me spell it out for you F-R-A-U-D.

The American public wanted and needed a clear winner of the 2008 Presidential election and the party gave them one. Which party? Why that's obvious, the money party. The money from corporate America goes to both parties until the election is decided through fund raising. The candidates lobby corporate America for their support until election night becomes the academy awards coronation ceremony. Still the illusion of representative government must be maintained for the rubes in the hustings.

Obama runs for his Party nomination against Hillary Clinton and the public is giddy with excitement as either a woman or a African American man will win the nomination. Hillary concedes and throws her support to Obama. Her supporters were disappointed and wanted her as Vice President but it is clear that a deal has been struck, in retrospect, it appears Hillary is sort of co-president with full control of the State Department. The emperors dividing the empire between foreign and domestic policy.

I who am I? Born at the pinnacle of American prosperity to parents raised during the last great depression. I was the youngest child of the youngest children born almost between the generations and that in fact clouds and obscures who it is that (more...)
