The Idol of Authority
(or Submission is Like So-o-o Much Easier
Than Having to Think for Yourself)
The trusting, gullible
and, yes, greedy-like-their-"betters"
Lower Classes, that's anything
under "Upper" in the United States of America,
were lulled into credit gluttony
and assured they were secure
in the Ownership Society
by the authoritarian daddy
they'd been conditioned to revere.
And not just anybody's daddy,
but all of them
with money in their pockets,
because Americans are nothing
if not obedient
to the point of obeisance
in the face of what they see
(eyes lowered, of course)
as successful (read "rich")
and therefore superior.
But when subprime bottomed out,
the jobs emigrated abroad,
you needed an engraved invitation
for healthcare, and the tacky,
above ground pools full of credit
ran out... We were shocked! Shocked!!!
as Daddy turned around
so we could see his other face
and told us he'd been pimping us out
for the Rich, just as he had always
been doing in the first place.
