The Life Force that was covered in emptiness

That One arose through the power of heat

Desire came upon that one in the beginning;

that was the first seed of mind.

Throughout the various spiritual traditions, the uncreated void conceived the universe as a thought. For example, in Keres Pueblo mythology, this Creative Ground is named Spider-Thinking Woman (Allen, 1991). The creation story regarding this Spider Woman states:

" Ooma-oo, long ago. The Spider/Thinking Woman was in a place where only She was. There was no light, nor dark; there was no warm wind, no rain or thunder. There was not cold, no ice nor snow. There was only Spider. She was a great wise Woman, whose powers are beyond imagining. No medicine person, no conjurer or shaman, no witch nor sorcerer, no scientist nor inventor can imagine how great Her power is. Her power is complete and total. It is pure and clear. It is the power of thought, we say, but not the kind of thought people do all the time. It's like the power of dream, but more pure. Like the spirit of vision, but more clear. It has no shape or movement because it just is. It is the power that creates all that is, and it is the power of all that is.....

She thought in Her power to each of the bundles and continued singing. She sang and sang. She sang the power that was Her heart, the movement that is the universe and its dancing. The power that is everywhere and and that has no name nor body, but that just is the power, the mystery. She sang and the bundles began to move. They began to sing, to echo (mirror) Her song, to join it. They sang their heart's song that was the same as Spider's heart song that was the heart song of the Great Mystery, the power that moves."

It should be noted that a Spider was oftentimes utilized as a metaphor for the Absolute because of its ability to spin webs. In this regard, the ancients and tribal religions knew that the relationship between all creatures, planets, stars and the way they related to empty space mirrored the way spiders spin webs. They also realized the holographic nature of the web where each point in the web mirrors and contains all other points. Thus, the atoms in your body are in the same relationship to emptiness as the stars above your head relate to space.

Heaven and Earth mirror one another.

Interestingly, some scientists are now stating the universe operates more like a thought than a machine. Indeed, the computer screen you are seeing these words on is not "out there." It is in your head. This screen is a wave that your brain (a wave itself, unless observed) analyzes via a form of calculus called Fourier Transforms and then creates an image (Talbot, 1991). If you want to change the look of this screen, try some LSD and your brain will conjure up a different image. The screen is not an objective fact out there. It is a subjective occurrence in your head.

Many people mistakenly believe the acts of creation in myth occur within a particular place in time, somewhere in the distant past. But, it does not. Creation is here and now. The primordial void is the foundation of this moment. Thus, when God says "Let there be light" in Genesis 1:2 of the Bible, it is talking about this moment of my writing and your reading. In this place, my writing and your reading occur in the Eternal Now for in Infinity there is no time nor space. To prove this, you need to go into a deep state of meditation where you enter a state in which you are not.
