The denial of what makes you fat.

McClatchy-Tribune News Service has an article titled, Safety concerns outweigh trivialities on obesity, by Jeffrey Axelrad. In the article Axelrad states that, “The reasons for weight gain are as varied as life itself.”

This statement ignores the fact that there are many variations in life that don’t make you fat. They include driving a car, working at your job, playing with the kids, doing the laundry, mowing the lawn, and many more things in life, including breathing. The statement also ignores the one and only thing that everyone wants to exclude from things that make you fat: eating.

In late 1930s and the early 1940s, the German government set up weight-loss facilities in several countries in Europe. It was found in these facilities that restricting the diet of the millions of people who were in these facilities caused them to lose weight. This proved, conclusively, that how much you weigh is strictly dependent on how much you eat. Eating more causes you to gain weight, eating less causes you to lose weight.

The weight-loss regimen showed that no matter how much you weighed when you entered the facilities, 300, 400 pounds, whatever, after approximately 90 days, you will weigh no more than 70 pounds. This applied to those who said their uncontrollable weight was due to “glandular problems” and that they just couldn’t lose weight because of that.

The diet program use at these facilities, such as Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, Mauthasen, Treblinka and many others showed conclusively, by the scientific method of removing one factor, eating, and observing the results, extreme weight loss, that eating is what makes you fat.

The opposite method of restoring eating to observe the results was never tried as removing eating resulted in the deaths of the participants.
