The spirits of the Gulf and the mines

I have never relayed my belief in the paranormal with my readers, but at this point I must. Do I believe that spirits aka ghosts walk amongst us? The answer is yes. Those who die and do walk amongst us after they die are taken from us violently or it was not their time to die.

With that said, I firmly believe that those 29 coal miners can be walking amongst us as well as the 11 whose lives were lost on that oil rig in the Gulf. You may think that a bizarre belief, but it is mine and I am sticking to it.

They are hoping that we the people do hear their message to finally get our energy affairs in order before more lives are lost. I frankly believe if we keep doing the same thing over and over where we believe any loss of life will be minimal we are fooling ourselves. The energy business is a very deadly business. Unless we get our energy affairs in order where safety comes first, accidents like these will keep on happening. To keep on keeping on is the very definition of insanity.

The other day, in reading this Newsday article titled: Cook on La. oil rig that exploded recalls escape, what eerily jumped out was, "She (the cook) scrambled through hallways littered with rubble, following a man in a white T-shirt" "I could not see anything but that man. He just kept on saying 'Come this way, come that way.' It was like he was coaching me to my lifeboat, because I couldn't see," she said." In reading that article, the man who led that cook to safety was never identified. As I read that part of the article, shivers ran up and down my spine.

As I was reading that one article, a resounding question came to me: Could he have been a spirit leading her to safety? Who knows, but if so, he saved her life. As I have researched, a spirit will lead a living person to safety because it is not his or her time to die. Again, you may think that train of thought wacky, but if you are a spiritual person, ponder it. Even if you are not a spiritual person, still ponder it.

I do not like to trample upon one's spiritual beliefs, but couldn't those who died within these two accidents be telling us all something? We hear from the politicians and pundits as well as the energy executives, but what of the spirits who may still be with us? Are we hearing their voices? What are they telling us as some of us may be listening in quieter moments and as we view news footage? All I say is listen!

What would these spiritual voices who may still be Earth-bound say to Sarah Palin as she has relentlessly stated, "Drill, baby, drill" Could their Earth-bound spirits be haunting her now? Oh let us hope so. I say that because these lives perished because of her belief that endlessly drilling into the Earth was good for man and woman-kind. Those that did perish died violently and before their time.
