To the media: ENOUGH of Sarah Palin...Other issues must take precedent

As a woman who has always been for women’s liberation, in recent days as one watches the news it has been ‘All Sarah all the time’ and quite frankly, I want to be liberated from hearing of her and seeing her.  No, it is not meant to be mean spirited, but a ‘shout-out’ to the major news networks to cease and desist in covering this woman when there are more important news items to discuss at length.

On any given night, I watch MSNBC’s “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue” with David Gregory, but in his absence Mika Brzezinski has been sitting in the anchor chair.  Please come back, Mr. Gregory since this news anchor fawns all over Sarah Palin.  Excuse me isn’t this show supposed to be how the incoming Obama administration will govern and the issues that he will need to focus on after taking the oath of office? So, why is it that on Wednesday night, Brzezinski was chatting Sarah Palin up ad-nauseam?

Not to solely pick on Brzezinski but others networks are equally to blame when Paling has taken part in rapid-fire interviews with Fox News Greta Van Susteren and NBC Today’s Matt Lauer.  Where was this maverick and I use that term loosely during the campaign as she hid from the media for a majority of the time?  With nothing to lose since she already lost we are at her mercy via the main stream media.  It used to be where the loser of a campaign would fade in the back ground; not so with Sarah Palin. Help!

Within his one-hour MSNBC show, David Schuster cites “Here are the things I thought you should know” and this is directed at the media’s endless coverage of Palin daring them to cover other pertinent issues relevant to our lives.

The other night as I was watching CNN’s Lou Dobbs, it was frightening to hear how the Chinese have been conducting cyber-war-fare on not only the McCain and Obama campaigns, but our United States government.

Here is what they reported in part is that, “communist Chinese hackers” are “breaking in to White House computers. Why haven't we heard from the Bush administration? We'll tell you about China's cyber attacks against the United States.”

Louise Schiavone also reported, "A government intelligence source tells CNN that Chinese hackers were probably behind an attack on White House computer systems, another episode in a string of Chinese cyber attacks that have so far infiltrated information systems at the Pentagon, the Commerce Department and Congress.”

You would think that pertinent to MSNBC’s show, “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue” since it directly deals with our national security and how President-Elect Barack Obama and his national security team will deal with this threat.  No, the viewers get Sarah.

Also reported on that one particular program and this is extremely important for all of us to know is where “John Tkacik, Fmr. State Dept. China Analyst” stated, “It must be up to about 50,000 attacks in 2008 alone. Now, when we pick up rocks, we find hundreds of little Chinese worms crawling out from underneath them and we put them back down and we don't know what to do about it.”  Please remember that many computer chips are made in China as was brought out within this airing of Lou Dobbs.

While I realize that Lou Dobbs is not the darling the progressive media web sites, his show can be substantive while other shows on other networks titillate its viewers.  Now that is a ‘shout-out’ to Brzezinski.

Another item brought forth in this one particular Lou Dobb’s show is where Paul Krugman appeared on it to discuss what stimulus package(s) will be needed from the government to even address this financial disaster.

Dobbs in his conversation with Krugman stated, "The idea of more stimulus, though, in this economy, as he (President-Elect Barack Obama) called for upon taking office…we've got over $2 trillion in stimulus, when you look at what the Fed has done with the banking system and what will be spent as the result of the bailout." He then went onto ask, Krugman, "How much more stimulus do we need?"

You will be shocked to hear what Krugman's reply was, "Lots, unfortunately. And this is -- this is like you've got some kind of infection and you tried all the usual antibiotics and they haven't worked and so now you go for the really heavy stuff."

Krugman also added, "I'm sorry, but this is -- this is bad. This is clearly the worst thing in 25 years and it's probably the worst in 70 years. This is, this is bad."
