--WPFW FM, the Washington DC stationed owned by Pacifica Radio sponsored a Town Hall Meeting Monday night, November 28 at the MLK Library on G Street in Washington DC.

The Town Hall meeting was meant to provide a forum where station employees and volunteers could share goals with members of the OccupyDC in a free ranging, open discussion.

WPFW is interested in helping spread the Occupy gospel more effectively and the opportunity was provided to explore this goal. To show support, Verna

Avery-Brown offered a multi-point plan on how WPFW will assist and work with the OccupyDC movement. --

WPFW has over 600 affiliate stations in the USA and all news programming about the OccupyDC movement is shared daily with the other stations.

--Joslyn Williams, President of the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO spoke in support of WPFW and the effort it is taking to help support OccupyDC.

Meanwhile, the Maryland State and District of Columbia AFL-CIO approved a resolution calling on its members to treat OccupyDC as they would a formal picket line. The resolution says that the MD/DC AFL-CIO will support any "unionized or non-unionized worker who refuses to break up, raid or confiscate the belongings of protesters,"

Fred Mason, president of the Maryland State and D.C. AFL-CIO, called it the "height of hypocrisy" for some business and community leaders to complain about sanitation at the camps when they had previously remained quiet about the conditions facing the homeless.
