US-PAK: Still Core Friends

Af-Pak is, in fact, the geographical demarcation that the US security juntas have devised for the region of two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is the much emphasized region of the international politics since the US-led global campaign against the so-called terrorism began in 2001. Currently, US Special Envoy Laurel Miller has, by reaching Islamabad on two days' official visit for making the inter-state proximity between Afghanistan and Pakistan possible, unveiled the reality that US-Pak friendly relations are still important for the two sides' strategic interests in the region in pursuit of making the strategic boons amply achievable.

The present jaunt of the said US official is also worth debating among the academic personalities and the media mainly because of the changing US policy pursuit in war-torn Afghanistan. To me, on the junction of the two sides' amicable propinquity, there can be estimated many prospects. Let us assume US policy-makers strive to make regional harmony possible, Pakistan stands absent in this agreeable development, the outcome is nothing in the long run.

US, on the same paths, wants to keep the deployment of the troops further for an unknown period in Afghanistan, Pakistan remains unwilling to provide its territorial access for the US logistic, the shipment of equipment and vehicles would absolutely become difficult for the latter. Speaking more frankly, US ambitions to enjoy the alliance with Taliban against DAESH in Afghanistan would never be achieved.

Observing this absence of the coveted goals in the said scenario in Afghanistan more lingered, Pakistan appears more un-exalted in achieving the following goals. Pakistani establishment, on-the-ground realities, perceives India as the strategic fork in the achievement of the vested interests in the region. Pakistan is much ambitious to make the flourishing strides of the socio-economic development of the country. This development is linked in the present situation with the completion of the CPEC.

In this regard, the absence of militancy in all forms in the Balochistan is particularly required. Herewith, US forthrightness is to make the mare go. Pakistan on the diplomatic horizon is not pleasant for any kind adventure. It more needs the diplomatic fraternal relations. USA for Pakistan is still among the core friends.

Therefore, in the debated all factors of the frank closeness between two sides, every tenet is obligatory for the rest. If one is missing, the coveted friendly results are bound to zero. Nonetheless, all the said factors require the two countries simple and one candid maneuver. It would result in the achievement of the strategic goals for the two states.
