Today is a good day to talk of such things; the Earth is at the furthest reach of its tether. I sit here in this soulless room of flesh, metal and glass. This room is filled with empty men and I am one of them. They are young and old and of all sizes and descriptions and though the doors swing wide open they are trapped here, trapped within a world and an existence of cold and solitude.
Their clothes tell you of their station but it is their eyes which tell the truest story. They stare at the ground with careless stares and bobbing heads. They carry bundles and bed rolls and mumble to themselves about a life which no one else can understand. A life which no one else wants to understand, it's best to look away and not make eye contact.
From a thousand roads they come to a place where none expected to ever visit, let alone to stay, but the roads upon which they travel are all one way, like a clock, it ticks away and you find yourself set up here, like concrete, and you look to the future and you begin to wonder. Not so much to fear, but only to evaluate the point of the future and conversely, the past and then you begin to mumble to yourself.
I have sent out literally hundreds upon hundreds of Résumé's but the clock ticks down and each day the hoop moves further and further away, like our sun and we are left cold and in the dark. I am stuck on a treadmill, we run on a squirrel cage in a perverted stage play. We are assigned by life to play out our abstract absurdities in this insane comedy.
The other day Newt Gingrich told a national television audience that, as President he would send US Marshall's and Capital Police to arrest what he called "activist judges." Yes, he said it; it is a part of the narrative. It was a stupid thing to say, but that is Newt's role, to say stupid things. The Sunday talk shows need politicians to come on air and say stupid things otherwise; stupid people would stop watching them.
It is after all, just infotainment anyway, Herman Cain? Who in their right mind ever considered Herman Cain as a viable candidate? He had never held any elected office, he was a corporate lobbyist and Federal Reserve banker and his closet was filled with enough skeletons to fill a Halloween haunted house. Individuals put up millions upon millions of dollars to promote such a candidate, a candidate with no more qualifications to be the President of the United States than Homer Simpson.
Michele Bachmann's campaign spent over a million dollars to purchase outright the Iowa straw poll. The campaign rented busses for the faithful, and put on a country music concert, free, gratis and all one needed to do to attend was to vote in the straw poll. The media was well aware that the Bachmann campaign had purchased the straw poll results and rather than tell the people of this outright fraud, the media instead reported Bachmann as an early front runner. Bachmann faded like cheap paint in the sun, but who put up all of this money for such a candidate? In good conscience, could you leave your house with Michele Bachmann in charge of your children? It's all a game, like baseball, and somebody has to play second base.
We are over the Rubicon and the ground shifts beneath our feet. The economy for the average American family can only be described as hellish; they are turning off their cable TV and rolling their own cigarettes but the media reports and promotes a recovery that doesn't exist. They call it a jobless recovery, a media fallacy, like a lifeless return to health.
It all becomes curiouser and curiouser as the US accepts some blame for attacking two Pakistani military outposts and killing two dozen Pakistani soldiers. The US admits that it gave the Pakistani military the wrong coordinates but then justifies its murderous aggression by saying we were attacked. No mention of such things on Fox news and the Republican candidates would never dare broach actual foreign policy issues.
This is the most militarily aggressive nation on Earth since the days of Nazi Germany. We hide our murder with platitudes of heroism and patriotism. We rain down bombs, rockets and contempt on our adversaries and we treat our own people with scorn and appalling neglect. In Tampa Florida, Lee County Sheriff's deputies tied a 62 year old man to a chair naked and pepper sprayed him ten times in 48 hours until he died. What was the charge against this man, public intoxication!
This is America, a terrorist police state. Once the world's policeman, and now"the world's thug. A one party state beholden only to money, a state comatose and lost in its own delusion, lost no differently than these lost men trapped in a snowy fast food restaurant, except, these men know that this is all an illusion and a delusion.
The Republican candidates rise and fall because it's good for ratings, just another act in the play. Obama the benevolent, rules no differently than Bush or Cheney yet the media say" nothing. Recently, the website "Democratic Underground" underwent a make over. This Democratic website is known for its wholesale Stalinist purges of its membership, "You are loyal comrade, but are you loyal enough?"
It is a website at war with itself and at war with reality. Anyone who dares to point out facts about the Obama administration are attacked as trolls or as Republican operatives. Name calling is their stock and trade and any publication which dares to print any unpleasant facts about the Obama administration are heaped with scorn. It is a sickening sycophantic Fuehrer worshiping cult where the leader can do no wrong and all who question the Fuehrer principle are thought criminals. This is the mainstream left? This is America? Yes, this is America today.
