Wal-Mart Gets Unionized But Not Here

"I used to stand up in front of my workers and lie to them. I used to say the talking points, that the union's a cult: You don't want to join a union. It's a cult. Why pay someone to speak for you? You can speak for yourself."
A former Wal-Mart Manager

Wal-Mart has recently lost its fight against unions but just not here in the home of the free. Instead, the good news comes out of China. Although the union is a government run union, it is still some sort of union and Wal-Mart looks forward to working with this Chinese Union.

In this country, Wal-Mart uses all of its power to destroy any attempt at unionization. But you know that.

"So what?" You might say.

Well if you think a company should be allowed to work its employees off the clock, offer little or no benefits to many of it's workers, engage in underemployment to avoid paying benefits, pay minimum wages after many years of service, engage in unequal pay for the same work by its female employees, use undocumented labor, engage in unfair firings and exploitative working conditions, destroy the economy of the community because of low wages and the tax breaks that the company receives, and use sweat shop and child labor. Well if you think all of this is fine then you might say, "so what?"

For the rest of thinking and feeling Americans, I say that the unions are not the solution but still a good start. But what we really need are laws that actually protect workers, and the imposition of tariffs and penalties against countries that engage in unfair labor.

Unfortunately we will not get that from the Democratic party since the McJob economy that you are seeing today, in which banks are failing at record numbers and the huge bail outs of financial firms, is the direct result of a combined Republicrat policy of globalization. This policy is destroying your retirement and the future economy for your children and grandchildren. It is turning the United States into a Third World world country with a technological facade.

So what? Well ultimately you, your family, loved ones, and friends are paying for all of it.

Just thought you should know.
