With at least a thousand workshops and fifty people's assemblies and tens of thousands of activists already arriving in Detroit for the US Social Forum that begins Tuesday, even we at Free Speech TV don't exactly know what we'll filming at this historic event.
Our cameras will be all over Cobo Hall and the Convention Center, and our reporters, which include Don Rojas, Herb Boyd, Eddie Harris, Ron Williams, Becca Ephraim, Suzanne Manneh, Laura Flanders, Jared Ball, Rosa Clemente and Marc Steiner, will be combing the halls and the city of Detroit to talk with people from around the world gathering for this historic event to find common ground and build partnerships to help solve the problems we all face.
We'll be there for the poverty summit on Tuesday, the Yes magazine interview with Danny Glover and an exclusive FSTV interview with Jerry Greenfield and Jeff Furman of the Ben and Jerry's Foundation on Wednesday. Journalist Herb Boyd, filmmaker Eddie Harris and producer Don Rojas will attend the first public screening of "Haiti: Cri de Coeur," a Free Speech TV exclusive documentary about the earthquake, followed by a panel discussion with special guests Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte. And we'll be caching these programs so you can watch them on-demand at our website.
Keep watching the Free Speech Blog and our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates on Free Speech TV's coverage of the U.S. Social Forum in Detroit through Saturday, June 26.
