(Mobius Strip, symbol of Infinity)

What if the basic premise of modern Civilization were found to be false?  What if the tribal cultures, the head hunters and plant gathering folks of old were the real geniuses?  Could it be that we have devoled instead of evolved?  I recall my grandmother saying that each generation born of women would become weaker and weaker.  I look around at the mess we are in and wonder if maybe she wasn't right.

Let's take science for example.  The emperorlist-rationalist-objectivist geniuses that ultimately originated from the Greco-Roman-Egyptian civilizations could be seen the Mother of modern science.  There there the greater powers were deemed to be the human intellect that could reason and obtain the Truth.  Furthermore, the world of Nature appeared to have been fallen, in comparison to Man (leave women out of it for they were deemed one stroke above the animals, and even that was a very small stroke given menstrual periods and bloody births).

It was Man that was deemed themselves superior.  Don't even think about the sacredness of carrying an egg, a potential human being, in your ovaries since prior to the time you were born of your Mother's uterus.  And while not thinking about that, don't think about how your menstrual cycles, which occur in four basic stages and mirror the seasons of the Earth.  Yes, women mirror Earth, Nature; and Nature is fallen.  Nature fell as Eve fell.  Why?  It is simply because She gave Adam i.e., Man, the Apple of Knowledge, which was guarded by the snake, which in those days was the symbol of Wisdom.

Why that nasty ole snake made Adam and Eve open their eyes, for God's sake.  What it did was make them self-conscious, which was a radical step for life suckling Nature's bosom.  And, what did they do when becoming self-conscious?  They hid themselves.  They hid who they were and thus wound up being dominated by Man, which in this day and age is the Corporation and it's police arm, the Government.

People say this myth happens in time.  Some say it happened 6,000 - 10,000 years ago.  I'd give some account to that for the fact is it was about 6,000 - 10,000 years ago that civilizations began to flourish on this planet.  Prior to this, in many of the hunting gathering societies, one could walk, run and squat buck naked and not think twice about it.  You didn't flaunt it nor did you hide it.  It was just there, it was you.  And you judged it not.

What were they ashamed of?  Their genitals?  Partly.  But I'm telling you that even a stripper can be ashamed of herself, of who she is in her deep nudity, i.e., the essence of who she is...I mean REALLY IS.

It's not as much about shame of genitals as it is shame of self.  It is about judgement.

This is what we do.  We judge ourselves and we judge others.  Yet, Christ says, "judge not lest ye be judged" while the Old Testament says to "love thy neighbor as thyself."

For the Right Winged Christians, this is often their biggest downfall.  These are the worst violators of the commandment on this Earth.  They judge everybody from gays, to women (of whom none of them spent 9 months within and were born out of and nursed for at least 6 months to a year) to people of different color and "religious" institutions.  I place "religion" in quotes for I feel there to be a big difference between "religion", which is from the French "religere" meaning "to connect" and an institutionalized dogma that is just as divisive as political parties, philosophies, theories of science etc.

I never will forget as a young man, around the age of 19, going to the University of Maryland Baltimore County and hearing the professors speak of their being of this theoretical persuasion or another.  And, I followed suit.  I just had to have an orientation.   A theory to go by.  "But, do I really," I wondered.  So, since I saw pros and cons of all of them I decided to become eclectic.  Sounded good and it was a quick way to say I like some of what all of them said and I didn't like what those same some of them said.

But, in 1992 I had a mind altering dream.  I was 43 at the time.  The dream went like this:

"I went to bed feeling depressed and trapped after a horrible day managing a Rite Aide     store in downtown Baltimore.  I found myself falling into an eternal pit.  Suddenly I     felt two hands grab hold of me.  I gazed up and saw the face of a young woman whom
I remembered as a 5 year old boy.  Suddenly she and I were flying through the skies.      Gazing at the Earth below, I realized that it was one.  What I saw were patterns put     together like a jig saw puzzle.   It was one picture.  Suddenly she and I were in space        and I gazed down upon the Earth.  A deep love then enveloped me.  She and I both, then, simultaneously reached our arms out to embrace the planet below."

Several dreams came about after that and led to my writing a book that eventually was self-published.

The point to this dream is that unity and diversity are not two.  Indeed, diversity is necessary for a well functioning planet.  It is in our goal to make everything in "our image" while also taking what we need for our own sake that is getting us into trouble.  Thus, our need to devour resources for never ending profit is destroying the biosphere and the atmosphere.  It is interesting that the term cancer literally means growth without end.  This is where we are, we are cancerous cells upon the Mother's body.  And, what happens when the cancer wins?  The host dies, just as the Earth will die.  And who dies with the host?  In people, it is the person suffering with cancer. With the Earth, it will be us alongside Her.

But of course out of the ashes the Phonex arises.  Death is the womb of that which is to be born.  During intercourse both sperm and egg die to being what they are.  And in that death, they become, in their unity, a new life.  (This is not to deny same sex coupling or coupling that is not for the intent of conception for these, too, can give birth to "higher" or more integrative states of consciousness).

This is the point we are at today.  We need to die.  Liberals, conservatives, democrats, republicans, theorists, philosophers all need to die.  Death is necessary to new life just as an egg and sperm need to die for the sake of creating a new person.  The question is, in our egotistical society, can we die for the sake of the world?  I know many Christians say Christ died for us so we don't have to.  I say that's bunk, and I generally don't say that to people of religious persuasion.  I do think we have to die to what we are, otherwise, there will be no change and perhaps the planet will become void of life.  But, then, if we live in a living universe, perhaps that too is a bit narrow minded?  Perhaps all of it is nothing less nor more than evolution, whose definition entails the unfolding of the potential that is within.  Within who?  Within me and you!
