Who the Florida governor is does matter!

By       (Page 1 of 2 pages)   2 comments
Message Farid Khavari

Florida voters are disillusioned with the present politicians and the current political establishment as a result of their inability to satisfy the economic needs of the people and protect Florida's environment. Voters also need to welcome and support candidates who have a solid plan to fulfill these requirements.

The two central topics of Farid Khavari campaign are the creation of prosperity and economic security for all Floridians and the protection of the environment. Floridians are still waiting to hear from Rick Scott and Charlie Crist about their economic and environmental plans.

Rick Scott and Charlie Crist believe that you can create jobs through corporate welfare and tax giveaways. Farid Khavari says this never works, and history proves him right. He says the way to create good middle-class jobs is by organizing demand for products and services that reduce the costs of living. He explains how to do it without any cost to taxpayers. He has a plan that makes sense and you can understand it in a few minutes. Only an independent governor working for the people instead of for big-money special interests can do this.

Rick Scott says he "cringes" whenever he hears about the minimum wage. Charlie Crist says "we have to do more"--but what?  Farid Khavari says that raising the minimum wage will boost our economy and create more jobs, not less. Other states have proven this time and again. More jobs and higher pay mean lower social costs for government, and lower taxes. Conservatives should embrace a higher minimum wage just as much as liberals.  Get the facts.

As Florida governor, Farid Khavari will make sure that medical marijuana stays in the hands of independent small businesses and craftspeople. Don't expect this from Rick Scott or Charlie Crist, who never met a million-dollar donor they didn't love. Don't let big business into medical marijuana!

The people of Florida want medical marijuana. But passing Amendment 2 is only the beginning. Rick Scott opposes medical marijuana, and if he is re-elected he can simply delay implementation for years. As former attorney-general, then governor of Florida, Charlie Crist enforced some of the toughest anti-marijuana laws in America. What would he do if he is elected governor again?  As governor, independent Farid Khavari will implement Amendment 2 on schedule, and lead the way for careful legalization. He'll make sure marijuana stays in the hands of independent small growers and small businesses. We can't let big corporations take over marijuana like they have everything else. Who the governor is really does matter.
