Will people's revolution spread to Israel?

As we see the people's revolution topple Egypt's Mubarak and his regime and its attempt to spread to other Islamic nations in the Middle East the question arises regarding its spread to the Jewish state of Israel.

The established media never tires of parroting the claim that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. Of course, if the revolution in Egypt leads to truly free elections and the creation of a democracy then Israel will not be able to make the claim that it is the only democracy in the Middle East. And if we objectively look at Israel we see it is not really a democracy.

The first requirement for a true democracy is to have a constitution. Israel does NOT have a constitution. This is because Israel is more of a theocracy than a true democracy. One reason Israel does not have a written constitution is because as a theocracy, which it truly is, it cannot have laws that are above the religious laws and authority.

Even in the preamble to the proposed Israel Constitution by the Institute for BLANK Strategies, under Basic Principles of the State we see the true theocratic roots of Israel. The first two read: "1. The State of Israel is a Jewish State and the National Home of the Jewish People, wherein the Jewish People fulfills its yearning for self-determination in accordance with its historical and cultural heritage. 2. The State of Israel is a democratic State, which respects human rights in the spirit of the Jewish heritage's principles of freedom, justice, integrity, and peace."

Number 1 makes very clear Israel is a Jewish state, not a democracy. A Jewish state can only be either/or a racial state and/or a religious state. The "historical and cultural heritage" of the Jewish People is open to everyone to learn about in the Old Testament. It is the promotion of Israel over all and the slaughter and genocide of Gentiles.

Number 2 is mere lip-service to democracy when you are familiar with "Jewish heritage's principles of freedom, justice, integrity, and peace." A quick look at the Torah, which is the source for Israel's very existence based on the myth found in the Torah of God giving the land of Israel to the ancient Hebrews, we see the Jewish principle of freedom, justice, integrity, and peace includes the right of Hebrews/Israelis to own Gentiles and our children as slaves to be passed on from one generation to the next as Jewish property (Leviticus 25:44-46); we see that Jews are not to practice usury against fellow Jews but they can against Gentiles (Deuteronomy 23:19-20). The list goes on and on of Jewish/Israeli superiority at the expense of Gentiles.

Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, drafted a proposed Israel Constitution. Adalah Chairman Professor Marwan Dwairy noted that all the constitutions proposed by Jewish organizations are not based on democratic values. He said, "They relate to Arab citizens like foreigners in this homeland, in which history, memory and collective rights are the legacy of Jews alone."

Hopefully the people's revolution in Egypt will inspire both Arab and Jewish Israeli's to push the Israeli government to actually adopt a constitution which is truly democratic in nature. It's time to let go of the ancient religious dogmas and embrace freedom, Nature, reason and progress. Israel can learn a lot from the Deist Albert Einstein. Einstein said, "Should we be unable to find a way to honest cooperation and honest pacts with the Arabs, then we have learned absolutely nothing during our 2,000 years of suffering and deserve all that will come to us." He also said regarding religious Jews, "Where dull-witted clansmen of our tribe were praying aloud, their faces turned to the wall, their bodies swaying to and fro. A pathetic sight of men with a past but without a future." (Regarding his visit to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, February 3, 1923)
