"The United States appear to be destined by providence to plague our peoples with misery"
Simon Bolivar

VHeadline commentarist, the Rev. Obed Juan Vizcaino Najera writes: In the national and international news, we constantly see the manipulation of information about Venezuela and other countries in Latin America, portraying them as totalitarian or dictatorial regimes simply because they have chosen to take the path towards socialism.

This is not a matter of simple misinterpretations or mistakes ... tt is an orchestrated campaign, promoted and financed by the US State Department under the evil administration of George W. Bush and before.

Just about everything appears to be Communism to the eyes of the US State Department.

They do not seem to have moved on from the stupid Cold War since the Soviet Union disappeared and it seems that they intend to repeat their follies in Latin America and the Caribbean where the people are simply going through a wholly justified liberation process. The US State Department wants to make Obama look like he's following imperialist policies imposed during previous administrations by white men and by the big capitalist powers ... perhaps moved by some sort of ideological and political handicap or reverence to the Bush administration and its antecedents.

YES, Mrs Clinton, there is indeed a dictatorship in Venezuela. That's true! It's also true that Condoleezza Rice and you, yourself, are different only by the color of your skin. The imperialist domination ideology is exactly the same.

We only need to wonder: Why the strange imposition? Mrs Clinton suddenly in the US State Department ... she was Obama’s greatest rival for the US Presidency. If we critically analyze the recent electoral scenario in the United States, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez had already defeated useless G.W, Bush in the media.

There is indeed a dictatorship in Venezuela ... it is very strong! It has been extremely strengthened by several factors: 25 million! The Venezuelan people who rule in Venezuela!

  • This has been the Revolution’s slogan since its conception and it makes more sense now than ever...

The People have progressively understood that there is a participative and protagonistic democracy in place. They have overcome the old model of representative democracies imposed by the bourgeois ruling classes throughout Latin America. aided by US administrations' neo-colonial policies. It is surprising to see how Venezuela's popular dictatorship has been installed democratically and pacifically in Venezuela. You see ... everything is decided by voting!

Mrs Clinton, Venezuela has changed forever: The Venezuelan people support their President and their President works to help those who have the least. This differs a lot from your husband's sado-masochist practices and those of his secretaries in the White House ... here in Venezuela, we have moral values in government!

There is indeed a dictatorship in Venezuela, a dictatorship of knowledge and wisdom.

Chavez' government has turned military facilities into schools and universities. Arms budgets have being diverted to agriculture and to stimulate intellectual values and knowledge. There are more schools and universities now ... in direct contrasts with the times when many military and democratic governments were imposed by you WASPs (White, Anglo-Saxon Protestants), using your 'carrot and big stick' value(?) system to subject Latin America for so many years.

Let us remember that you created the Perez Jimenez, the Videlas, Pinochet, Rios Mont, Hussein, Uribe and Santos ... and the Bin-Ladens. Similarly, you created Montesinos, Fujimori, Rosales, Posada Carriles and Alan Garcia, as well their degenerates ... Frankensteins who, on occasion, have denounced of your USA lack of ethics and morals. They have continued to be your monsters ... assassinating people and looting their own nations.

There is indeed a dictatorship here in Venezuela, based on creative love ... looking to the well-being of the people and the integration of our entire continent ... out of love, defeating illiteracy, famine, health problems, extreme poverty and ignorance. These terrible things were not solved while there were US State Department-supported military or so-called democratic governments in the past. Historically unfair situations and social debts have been defeated in just ten years of revolutionary government because we insist on standing by the ideals of the XXI Century Socialism.

Here in Latin America, there is indeed a true popular proletarian dictatorship. It includes indigenous people, those of African-descent people, all genders, youth, workers and intellectuals who are committed to not taking one step backwards in the battle to win their rights. We are willing to defend our freedom with our lives!  You can be certain that, despite the propagandized reports you get, that our liberated nations have decreased unemployment, mortality, school exclusions. It is also known that our economies have coped very well with the grave global capitalist crisis, which is the death of savage neo-liberalism.
