California Congressional Candidate Marcy Winograd Wows, Vows Not to Accept Contributions from Defense Contractors* Unlike her Military Corporate-Coddling Opponent, Jane Harman
Below is a list of Harman's top 2004 contributors, followed by a Torrance Chamber of Commerce corporate banner honoring Jane Harman.
Unlike Harman, Marcy Winograd, anti-war candidate for the 36th congressional district, will not accept money from defense contractors unless they are engaged in some form of peace or alternative energy conversion to address the dangers of global warming. "We must embrace the possibilty of peace and the rule of law, not the rule of bombs and Bush," said Winograd. "One cannot wage peace when bankrolled by defense contractors who profit off of war production. Our war and defense budget is larger than the defense budgets of all the world's countries combined. It is time to redefine the meaning of security to include energy independence and a commitment to global cooperation and diplomacy."
Note Harman contributions from defense contractors: Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, Science Applications, K & F Industries, Aircraft Braking Systems Inc., National Technical Systems, and other companies that are involved in war production. The Blue Dog PAC and New Democrat Network are the brainchild of the Democratic Leadership Council, the conservative corporate-driven wing of the Party that has attempted to silence the anti-war voice.
