Every day people disappear, many never seen again. Some of these are eventually found dead; others are never seen again. The body of experience with disappearances shows that the sooner a search begins the more likely it is that the missing person will be found alive. At the Laura Recovery Center Foundation the mission is to help individuals working within their communities launch rapid response searches that incease the chance that missing children and adults ura Kate Smither.

Laura Kate was 12 year old child, an aspiring ballerina, certified scuba diver, cadette girl scout, and gifted student when she was abducted near her home in Friendswood, Texas on April 3rd, 1997. More than 6,000 volunteers put their own lives on hold to give their time and commitment to find Laura. Her body was discovered 17 days later.

The Foundation teaches the skills necessary for communities to respond immediately in such emergencies thus increasing the chances for survival for those who have been lost or abducted. Training is available to children, communities, and to law enforcement personnel. Cooperation between family,
community, and law enforcement is an essential to ensuring the safety of children and adults. The Smithers took their personal grief and used it to establish an ongoing mission aimed at making people of all ages safer by training individuals
in communities to act effectively.

The Smithers will talk about the mission of the Laura Recovery Center Foundation, their own life journeys, and why Americans must take control of their own
communities on the Spiritual Politician at BBSradio.com this Friday, January 5th, at 4pm PST.
