Chicago NOW's 2nd Annual Love Your Body Day Performance Showcase – Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

What: Second Annual Love Your Body Day Poetry Showcase
When: Wednesday, October 17, 2007
Where: Heartland Café, located at 7000 North Glenwood
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Love Your Body Day, nationally celebrated on October 18, is sponsored by National NOW and focuses on increasing awareness of body image issues that women and girls across the U.S face. Love Your Body Day addresses important questions about dangerous health concerns such as eating disorders, drug and alcohol use, and low self-esteem.

To celebrate LYBD, Chicago NOW will be hosting their 2nd annual performance showcase, which will feature local artists who will provide their thoughts about this theme. This showcase is open to anyone, and we invite you to share your own words--however you feel like expressing them.

There will also be a raffle with items that promote positive body images such as boxing lessons, karate lessons, b*tch magazine back issues, gift certificates, feminist books, and more.

This year's LYBD performance showcase will be sponsored in part by Sheila Kelley's S Factor, the mind and body workout featured on Oprah. Sheila Kelley's S Factor is providing Introductory Class gift certificates (valued at $40 each!) to the first 40 people (over the age of 18) to arrive at the performance showcase.
