Exit polls show that Corruption was the number one issue. Hastert concedes House to Dems. Dems will have 26 to 47 seat lead. OpEdNews believes Dems will also take senate. But Allen will fight it-- and lose. Tester Race called win by CNN. Allen and Burns both criticized Dems for recounts before. South Dakotans reject anti-abortion measure. Californians reject parental notification measure Arizona approves English as official language measure Ahnold wins, says he loves sequels. Dems Take DeLay's district!! Harry Reid thanks bloggers, says they are a part of America. McCaskill beats Talent, Claims Victory. Webb vs Allen 99% in and less than 8,000 lead for Webb, after running behind most of the counting. This one's probably going to a recount. Webb claims victory. Tester beating Burns 51% to 47%-- a 10,000 vote lead, with 64% of votes counted. It looks good for him. Add them up and the Dems have done it. They've taken the senate!!! Jerry Brown wins CA attorney General. Andrew Cuomo Wind AG for NY-- another generation for the dynasty. Richard Pombo, the environmental troll from California, with the worst record on the environment in congress looks like he's experiencing an envotrimental spill. With 79% of votes counted he's down 48 to 52%. May the force flush you, Richie. Senate Races RI Sen Whitehouse over Chaffee (pick-up) FL Senate She-witch 2000 vote theft criminal Katherine Harris Blows her Family Fortune, Losing to Dem Nelson. (hold) No tears shed here. She's an nutcase and deserves jail time. Too bad the odds are there will be a Repug Governor who will be less likely to prosecute her. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders-- Independent-- Working person's hero (hold) Bernie is an extraordinary addition to the senate. Oh that every senator was as good a person, as sollid a progressive as he. Santorum is Toast!!! Casey Wins PA Senate Race. (pickup) Watching his concession speech is sweet-. An end to 12 years of republican senators in PA. As predicted, Casey pulled this one off, now let's hope he does a good job in the senate, and the DLC doesn't use him as an anti abortion poster boy of how to win by screwing women's rights. Sherrod Brown beats Repug incumbent Mike DeWine for Ohio Senate (pickup) As expected-- another good liberal added to the senate. NJ Senate: Menendez Beats Kean(hold) close but would have been a huge surprise for NJ to deliver a repug. MD Senate Cardin (D) over Steele (hold) expected, but nice to see. CT Sen: Lieberman declared winner by CNN, MSNBC (hold) yuk. Good try Ned Lamont. West Virgina; Senator Robert Byrd (hold) No surprise here. MA Senator TEd Kennedy (hold) No surprise here. MI:Senator Debbie Stabenow (hold) Minnesota: Sen. Amy Klobuchar (hold) Congressional Races a strong dem showing in Indiana bodes VERY well for a wave-- a big, strong sweep. TX22 Lampson Wins DeLay's former District by big margin (pickup) AZ05 Mitchell beats incumbent rightard Hayworth Pickup This was one I wanted to see go Dem. Hayworth, a former talk show host, was an extreme right wing creep. Love to see this one Whoopee!!! PA08 Patrick Murphy over Mike Fitzpatrick (Pickup) This is MY district. It's a close one, under 5,000 difference with close to 230,000 votes. Murphy worked incredibly hard against some of the nastiest, ugliest ads. He'll be a breath of fresh air. Though not a politician, he learns fast and will be a smart player. I hope he gets a good progressive mentor. PA10 Chris Carney over SherwoodPickup Sherwoods half apology and denial of beating his girlfriend didn't work. Carney is a great guy, another military Dem. PA07 Joe Sestak Crushes Curt WeldonPickup PA04: Altmire (pickup) FL16 Mahoney over Negron Pickup This was Foley's district. Negron had to get his supporters to "punch Foley" and it didn't work. FL22 Klein over Repug incumbent Shaw Pickup NY20 Gillibrand over Sweeney Pickup NH 01: Shea-Porter (pickup) big surprise. Major!! NY24: Arcuri (pickup) OH18: Space (pickup) IN 8th congressional-- Ellsworth Beats Repug incumbent Hostettler-- one of the most vulnerable in the country. (pickup) Ellsworth is a social conservative-- anti-abortion, pro-gun. AZ08 Giffords over Graf Pickup Picks up retiring Jim COlby's R seat IN02: Donnelly (pickup) IN09: Hill (pickup) KA02 Boyda over Ryun (pickup) KY 03: Yarmuth (pickup) NC11 Shuler over Repug Incumbent Taylor pickup Gubernatorial Races MD Gov O'Malley over repug Ehrlich Ohio: Ted Strickland Beats scumbag, criminal Ken Blackwell. (pickup) Now, let's hope Strickland prosecutes this murderer of democracy and makes sure he, at least, does time. MA GOV: Dem Duvall Patrick defeats Kerry Healy (pickup) Second african Amer. gov. Replaces repug gov, Mitt Romney.
