I have obtained an interview with Senator Mike Gravel. Since he is so popular among progressives I believe that I was really lucky to get this interview and I hope that it goes well so that we can keep up with his campaign. I say we because I feel that we are a community. A community of people that think outside of that proverbial box and just because he doesn’t have 26 million dollars in campaign money from corporate fat cats, we don’t write Senator Gravel off.

It isn’t always money that makes this world go around. Commonsense and straight talk have a lot to do with making a viable political candidate. In an ideal world, people would vote for a candidate on what he stands for and where he has been politically and in life, not on the way he looks or how many times that you hear his or her message on TV. If the media were the only indication of popularity, Mitt Romney and his constant blather on every channel, even this far out in the campaign, would be the decisive winner. No it doesn’t take just money. Money is important, but the most important part of a campaign is the message each candidate brings to the table. I believe that we owe it to hear and evaluate all of the candidates and to come to a conclusion by asking questions and sifting through the best answers.

We usually don’t get a chance to ask a candidate our own questions. That is why I am going to ask you to give me some questions, and I will forward those questions to Senator Gravel, and let him answer the questions he thinks are the most important. I only have three of my own questions, and I have 15 minutes, maybe more if he doesn’t mind. Let me know what it is that you would like to ask the Senator and I’ll forward the comments to him on Monday afternoon. Try to keep it polite and maybe we can do it again. Thank you in advance.
