Lynn Landes on "VoteRescue Radio" Sunday - Where Citizens Count, One Vote at a Time"

Message Vickie Karp
This week on "VoteRescue Radio - Where Citizens Count, One Vote at a Time!":
Karen and I are very excited about our upcoming radio show this Sunday!
As usual, the show will air Sunday 10/14 from 2-4pm Central time, can be picked up on the radio in the Austin area at 90.1 FM; is streaming live on www.wtprn.com (for We the People Radio Network), AND, can be heard OVER THE PHONE at 512/485-9010!
Our special guest this Sunday will be LYNN LANDES! We know that many of you know Lynn, but for those who are not familiar with her background, she is one of the nation's leading journalists on voting technology and democracy issues, one of the earliest "pioneer" activists who came out in favor of hand-counted paper ballot elections, and was Karen Renick's (and Bev Harris') inspiration to get involved with election integrity (and probably the inspiration for many others as well!) Readers can find her articles on EcoTalk.org.
Lynn is a former news reporter and was a commentator for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). In 2004, she filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia challenging the use of electronic voting machines and absentee voting as unconstitutional. The U.S. District Court ruled against her and she appealed up to the Supreme Court which ruled that Landes "had no standing" to challenge the constitutionality of elections laws. Lynn is an amazing activist and has been a huge inspiration to countless people nationwide. She is one of the contributors to the book, "HACKED! High Tech Election Theft in America" (www.hackedelections.com, as was Kathleen Wynne, last week's fantastic guest!) This should be a lively, informative interview!
Other topics we'll cover:
* More information on HR 811, "The Holt Bill", and why it's so important that we all keep up with it so it's not "slipped by us" and voted in, federalizing secret vote counting as well as other ominous policies
* Detail about the Exit Poll that VoteRescue, and our Coalition, "Texans for REAL Elections", conducted over Labor Day in Fort Worth at the Texas Straw Poll, and re-announcing our upcoming Austin VoteRescue meeting to plan Exit Polling for our Texas November 6th election (Meeting is Tuesday, October 16th, 7-9:30 pm, at Brave New Books, 1904 Guadalupe, Austin)
* Election news from around the country: Federal lawsuit against electronic voting expanded to all 50 states; Alaska Lt. Governor calls for review of all voting machines used there; Steve Freeman gives excellent talk on Exit Polls in L.A; plus other exciting updates!
OUR SPECIAL GUEST NEXT WEEK, October 21st: Our very own Abbe Waldman DeLozier!
This is a CALL-IN show and we will be taking calls from 2:30 til 3:00 pm and from 3:30 til 3:50 pm with our guest. The call-in numbers are: 1-888-202-1984, and in the Austin area, or if you have unlimited long distance, the number is 512-646-1984.
Hope to "see" and hear you "On the Air" on Sunday!
WE ARE WINNING--because of citizens like YOU!!
With thanks for your support,
Vickie and Karen
