I've seen a painting of
Monterrey Bay on a
stormy, billowy
evening

and a heavy, lingering rain

but I haven't been to
Ground Hero
on a night that resembles
the sky on a stormy, billowy
evening at Monterrey Bay

And if I were to open
that silver book

its souls would stand
within

keeping watch over
twin towers
unhauntingly
