off-highway gutters

have become proxies

for capital accumulation

to be written off

just below spent emotions

half-cooked dreams

rustbelt sewer runoff

shakes a menu

of macjob fairs

stolen song riffs

     a plagiarized phony two-step

     won't fool yah

.....

watch the on-highway traffic

looks to be moving

smooth and in control
