****Open letter to Saul Anuzis, MICHIGAN REPUBLICAN CHAIRMAN**** Mr. Anuzis, It has come to my attention that you either have or plan to gather support from the Republican Caucus to silence Dr. Ron Paul by preventing him from attending any further debates is this true? I wanted to give you the opportunity to either confirm or deny this report. If you attempt to prevent this honorable man from sharing his views and allowing the American people to decide for ourselves which candidate we will support, then this can only be equated with censorship and fraud! This is not a George Orwell novel sir, This is America!, and in this country people get to express their view, on any and all topics, however painful they may be. I am a former Marine, husband of 20 years, and I have raised three children all of whom are in or entering college. I am pretty certain that I am quite capable of formulating my own opinion with regards to my political positions. Furthermore, I suggest you examine closely the debate and the way Mr. Giulliani shamelessly twisted Dr. Paul's statements and used this opportunity to once again hide behind false patriotism and vault himself into the limelight by disrupting the flow of the debate, with only the most egregiously selfish of intentions. Dr. Paul merely quoted from a document that I dare say neither you nor Mr. Giuliani have any intimate knowledge of. For if either of you had, it would have been fairly evident that Dr. Paul was quoting from the 911 Commissions Report. That sir, is the real shame! Mr.Giulliani is a hypocrite plain and simple and apparently so too are you if you support this type of shameless pandering during a televised national debate. using the deaths of Americans in a vain attempt to elevate his poor showing on the issues. I would like for you to PUBLICLY retract your negligent, grossly unfair, verbose statements to the press concerning Dr. Ron Paul! Furthermore I strongly suggest that you instead, dedicate you time in a positive way by creating a petition to the Republican Caucus that deals with elected officials who knowingly slanders another for their own political gain! Like what Mr. Michael Steel did on the post debate hit piece on Dr. Paul by Fox News spinster himself Sean Hannity. The American people see this for what it is and it's disgusting. This modern practice of smear campaigning is not the type of garbage the American people want to see from their elected officials, or their trusted unbiased media sources. This does not promote respect for candidates and can only serve to deepen the American people's disdain towards the political process. This behavior is unacceptable in our modern society and our elected representatives should be held to an even higher standard by setting a positive example for their constituency to follow. One should not devote so much of their time chopping another person down in order to elevate themselves. A candidate should spend more time elevating himself by performing his due diligence, by becoming well informed on all governmental matters that pertain to the position that candidate hopes to occupy. I'm not suggesting censorship of truth but the knowingly malicious twisting of facts to suit ones own agenda has simply seen it's time, and is best for all if we select an alternate course and bring respect for our elected Statesmen and the political discourse. Respectfully Submitted Stephen Dupont
