AMNESTY DEFEAT SUPERCHARGES RON PAUL'S WHITE HOUSE BID

By       (Page 1 of 2 pages)   1 comment

America has spoken - and she made clear that she ain’t happy with what’s been going on.

Americans may ordinarily be fast asleep in front of their TV screens and en route to and from their favorite ball games, but this one issue has thoroughly penetrated their otherwise pervasive slumber:

As a result, amnesty for illegal entrants is now officially dead.

Expired, right alongside amnesty, lie the presidential ambitions of that portion of the roster of candidates who openly supported the Bush-Kennedy axis of high treason: McCain and Brownback on the GOP side, and pretty much everyone other than Gravel on the Democratic flank. After that kind of outpouring of electoral discontent, any candidate who still talks about giving legislative perks to alien lawbreakers will get a free name placque in America's hall of infamy.

The stunning defeat of the amnesty proposal was made possible only by unprecedented pressure from the American grass roots on their presumptuous “rulers for a season.” Most GOP Senators rather would have liked to accede to Traitor Bush’s arm twists and lucrative power bribes, but they finally figured out that whatever political perks their senior colleagues and party leaders might be able to offer will do them no good after their irate constituents vote them out of office.

The question that now arises is whether those on the GOP side who wisely chose not to support amnesty quite as openly as McCain did will reap the benefit of this development - or whether they won’t.

Much in opposition to what they may hope for, it appears that this development will rather dim their chances at moving to Pennsylvania Avenue in 2009.

With John McVain now effectively gone from the list of top GOP presidential ‘dopefuls’, Mitt Conme and Trudy Ghouliani have lost their most powerful weapon in their attempt to keep Ron Paul in his place and out of their respective hairdos:

What ‘weapon’ are we talking about? We are talking about their formerly strongest ally in their respective bids for the oval office.

Senator Hellary Clinton.

Without Hellary to scare potentially errant GOP sheep back into the neocon fold, the chances of so-called “second-tier” contenders have increased many times over. Without her, all of a sudden voting your conscience isn’t so “dangerous” anymore. Any potential GOP election-loss would no longer turn the white house over to the female devil-incarnate.

The problem is that not one of the mostly anti-amnesty second-tier GOP candidates has spawned anywhere near the level excitement among voters as Congressman Ron Paul has. Not one of them has support levels that are as deep and as broad among the true grass roots of America as those of the infamous “Dr. No.”

Further, not one of them has a nascent electorate that is as deeply committed to their respective goals for America. The reason: None of them have a vision for America that is as simple, as clearly enunciated, as economically beneficial, and as truly liberty-oriented as that of Ron Paul.

Paul stands alone as the second-tier candidate who correctly took America’s pulse and figured out that Americans don’t want the war in Iraq to continue. He is the only one who figured out that Americans would rather bring our troops home from around the world and station them along the border where they can really protect us - rather than having them act as sitting ducks for terrorists abroad. Of course he correctly took America’s temperature: he’s the only doctor in the entire race.

He is also the lone rediscoverer of the US Constitution in the whole bunch. If Americans have figured out anything at all during the three most recent administrations, then it is this simple truth: The best and brightest hope for America ever fulfilling her potential as the beacon of Liberty at home and in the world is to force her government to operate within the law that established it.

Because Americans have been so lax in enforcing the Constitution on their politicians, their government has become accustomed to living the life of an outlaw. The only sane choice for president in 2008 is therefore the one man who has based his entire two decade-long political career on the need to ‘rehabilitate’ this outlaw government.
