Well my wife went into labor 2 days after our wedding anniversary which also happened to be the day Hurricane Katrina landed causing the worst natural disaster in the 200+ year history of the United States. Katrina destroyed our home in Gulfport, Ms.
and our recording studio in Ocean Springs, Ms. In fact it basically destroyed a NINETY MILE wide area all the way from the New Orleans to Pascagoula, Ms. So after many months of chaos I knew my wife could really use a break so for her birthday present this past week we fled the disaster area and wound up in Hollywood where we were able to have a nice relaxing time and I was also able to help spread the word about http://www.katrinasanta.com
We met some radio DJ's who had heard of me and were fans of my comments to The Dick so they gave me some VIP passes to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre premiere of the latest Jennifer Anniston movie called "Rumour Has It". The movie was directed by Rob Reiner and is intended as a sequel to "The Graduate." We had to wait about 45 minutes or so while the celebs took their turns strutting it on the red carpet. Of course, Jennifer Anniston has been quite popular this year so a ton of celebrities were there on the red carpet with the paparazzi/fans in tow (see here
http://popsugar.com/4645 ). So we had to wait while the celebs took their turns and eventually the movie started. It was a pretty good movie that had everyone laughing throughout. Afterward the crowd mingled and so I wound up meeting Karl and Rob Reiner and shook Rob Reiner's hand. I told him I have always been a fan ("THIS IS SPINAL TAP "is the greatest rock and roll movie of all time in my mind.) and he laughed about the Cheney thing. Also at the event were Jamie Lee Curtis, Mena Suvari, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Anniston, Shirley Mcclain, Nicollette Sheridan among others. It was really weird as pretty much the entire vacation anyone who found out who I was wanted to either shake my hand or give me a high five so that was really cool.

Then the next day the guy who is in the process of making a 'made for tv' movie out of the footage we shot revolving around Katrina said that the production company is anxious to get it completed. Later we went by The Viper Room and the Whiskey A Go Go to talk to them about the Feb. 11th/12th gigs my band dR. O will
be playing. That night we went back to the
Whiskey A Go Go to watch Carbon 9. They pulled out every gimmick in the book with 2 midgets in cages, makeup, costumes, and a giant predator like robot.
More importantly they had some good music and everyone enjoyed the show. Later that night we were granted VIP access to the 'Tropicana bar' which is a somewhat notorious celebrity hangout ( http://www.hipguide.com/losangeles/bars/1132687439.shtml
) on Hollywood Blvd. My wife and I basically 'people watched' there but I did to speak to MYSPACE star Tila Tequilla who seemed really cool ( http://www.myspace.com/tilatequila ) We also saw Eve and numerous other celebrities. There were a lot of people lined up outside trying to get in which was odd when we came walking out because it seemed like everyone was looking at us wondering to themselves 'Who the hell are they and why did they get in?" Well I know why I got in (GO FU** YOURSELF MR. CHENEY!) but hopefully in addition to taking a personal vacation I was able to also do a little good for http://www.katrinasanta.com

Since returning I have initiated contact with Oprah, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, Michael Moore, Larry Flynt, and Al Franken to see who will help us help with www.katrinasanta.com So far, Mr. Flynt has added Katrina Santa to the top of his political website http://www.larryflynt.com/ and I feel quite hopeful that at least one of the other persons I contacted will do the same. I have also received word that world famous skateboarder, Billy Marks, has autographed a skateboard that will be sent to the child who lost his. It looks like we are getting some really good responses. Basically, to me personally, if we only help ONE family then it was worth creating the site. Of course, I certainly hope we help more than one family beca- use I see how many families are in true need. The facts on the ground are that we have WAY TOO MANY AMERICAN FAMILIES THAT WILL BE LIVING IN TENTS IN THE FREEZING COLD THIS CHRISTMAS.
BAH HUMBUG! I say no to that idea. And many of these families will continue to need help after Christmas in
order to SURVIVE! For example, a 19 year old male
has lost his home and was having to live in a tent. He died from hypothermia. This is the most immediate concern at the present time in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina and so that is why I added the 'weather' section to http://www.hurricanekatrinasucked.com

For those who would help here is just one way you can help fix that problem:

Sometimes from what we see, hear & read in the news it seems like the media only focuses on New Orleans and not the Mississippi Gulf Coast, which actually received more direct damage from the storm itself via wind-tidal surge:

Here is what happened to our recording studio:

There are tons of other pics on the site so that the world can see the extent of the damage which is basically about 90 MILES WIDE from the New Orleans area all the way east to the Pascagoula area. Of course we know the damage done to our friends in the New Orleans area was catastrophic and the people of New Orleans paid the more severe price is total number
of lives lost. So this site is for people not only
on the Mississippi Gulf Coast but also for our friends in need in Lousiana. And so I repeat, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of persons living in tents RIGHT NOW along the MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST because I have seen it with my own eyes. I have been told that the people in the New Orleans area are able to live in hotels, but I am not 100% certain if that is true or not? So, anyway, please do what you can to help even if it is just forwarding this message to your friends, which will help those in need and also demonstrate to the entire world the power of the internet when combined with a belief in the good of humanity as a whole!
DON'T LET KATRINA BE THE GRINCH....HELP US WIN THE REAL WAR ON CHRISTMAS AND BE A KATRINA SANTA!
HO! HO! HO!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!
