It's very comforting to find opednews on my computer each day. Here, I can express my own views and read interesting articles and stories from the grass roots folks around the country, - people who I may never meet, and yet I feel that I know. At the same time I know there is a need for funds to maintain the ongoing efforts of this work. The saying is still true, - "There is no free lunch."
I am pledging some of my "stimulus" money to opednews in appreciation for keeping us informed. The Congressional bi-partisan effort is underway to pass the Stimulus Package soon. The President has already committed to the need for this legisalation. According to Associated Press reports, rebate checks could be mailed out to individuals as early as June. But opednews needs our help now.
I invite other readers and contributors to join me in this effort. I like the familiar saying, "Many hands make light work." We can all give something. I have been encouraged at the amount of money raised by volunteers for Barak Obama's campaign. Thousands of grass roots citizenry donated the bulk of the funds for his candidacy. Let us all join in a similar effort to insure that opednews continues. Yes we can!
