Well that's funny, the private sector is supposed to reward people for their hard work, that's why these slick willies don't pay taxes anymore, right? Not so. Half the charges contractors are giving to the government (billions of dollars) are for "overhead costs." Like what? Food, the report says. Right. That's one hell of a McDonald's. This means that only 45 percent is actually being spent on reconstruction and perhaps less, the report indicates.
So why are private, no-bid-contractor, stretch-limousine draft-dodger executives being rewarded for doing nothing? Why are their employees--the construction workers who we are supposedly paying to rebuild Iraq--doing nothing but eating, laughing and playing video games? Why are they sitting in air-conditioned safe zones with no work orders and no responsibilities while our Marines are out there learning what it feels like when three pounds of hot metal suddenly make their body start functioning very wrongly?...just before they meet God? Why would the republicans tolerate incompetence on such a colossal scale? Could we answer that question by looking at who these contractors are?
The Times reports that KBR Inc. is doing the least amount of work and charging the most for it. KBR Inc. is a subsidiary of Halliburton-wait a second, who used to work at Halliburton? Who has stock invested in Halliburton? Which party is the party of Halliburton? You answer that question, Red America! Which party is the party of Halliburton? I want an f-ing answer!
But what do I know, Red America? Right? I'm just a democrat. The party of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed doesn't know anything, does it? Remember? We hate America. It couldn't be that when I'm looking out for my interests, there just happens to be an overlap with your interests. We couldn't have mutual interests, could we? I'm a blue person and you're a red person. I have a star on my belly but you don't have a star on yours.
It couldn't be that when republicans wear cowboy boots that they are actually just playing dress-up, when in reality they spend all their lives sitting on leather and drinking Perrier. No. Dick Cheney is looking out for you, and he must know. Why, of course Dick Cheney, who has no interest in seeing Halliburton do well, would say something right now to remind you why you should vote for the republicans and forget the crazy babble of a democrat like me.
