And Republicans roamed the earth in those days.

We know about George Bush's ancestor, Prescott Bush, and his nefarious machinations to overthrow the US government and profit from his dealings with the Nazis.  But, few are aware of another ancestor, Uncle Josh Bush, whose nefarious machinations, genocide and atrocities are being repeated by George Bush, 3200 years later.  George uses the same cover-your-ass Republican spin used by Uncle Josh to try to make it look divinely scanctioned.

Consider the following story from the Old Testament:

Joshua 8:1 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into they hand the king of Ai, and his people and his city, and his land.

Joshua 8:25 And so it was, that all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai.

Joshua 8:26 For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.

Now, consider the following quotes from George Bush:

"I'm driven with a mission from God.  God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.'  And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George go and end the tyranny in Iraq,' and I did."

Never mind that replacing Saddam's tyranny (arbitrary or unrestrained excersise of power) with George Bush's tyranny still leaves you with a tyranny, and never mind that George beat Uncle Josh by several hundred thousand innocent people killed, and never mind that George committed his atrocity about 600 miles to the east of Uncle Josh's atrocity, the stories are the same.  The stories are about claiming divine sanction for doing what you damned well please by killing as many innocent people as possible to get what you want and claiming that God told you to do it.

I did not make up the following and it is not from a Monty Python skit.  These people are dead serious:

Pope Benedict has revised Roman Catholic teaching on "limbo," approving a report that said there was reason to hope that babies who die without baptism can go to heaven.  Catholics have long believed that children who die without being baptized are with original sin and are thus excluded from heaven.  The Rev. Luis Ladaria: "We can say we have many reasons to hope that there is salvation for these babies."

Now, the babies killed by Uncle Josh, who've been waiting around for 3200 years for the Pope to decide what to do with them, and the babies killed by George Bush in Iraq, can go to Heaven.  Uncle Josh and George are sure they're going to Heaven, having been assured by Jerry Falwell that God is a Republican.  Their explanation to the babies for why they were killed will follow the standard Republican spin.  Uncle Josh will say that God told him to do it, so go ask Him.  George will say that he attacked Iraq to destroy weapons of mass destruction and God told him to do it, but God neglected to tell him that there weren't any, so, it's all God's fault.  Then, George will slap God on the back and say, "Heckuva job, Lordie," and go strutting off to see if the Throne is the right size.

There have been many descriptions and definitions of the horrendous nature of Hell.  My own definition of Hell is far worse than any yet described.  Hell would be to have to spend eternity in a Heaven with all those who are sure they're going there.
