James Jay Carafano, in an article from the Heritage Foundation titled "America's modern military is a bargain," brags that Bush's defense (sic) budget for the next year of $515 billion is the largest since World War II. He then asks, "How can it cost almost as much to chase Osama bin Laden as it did to beat Hitler and Tojo?" Carafano parenthetically dismisses the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan fiasco as insignificant and not worth mentioning.
Well, Mr. Carafano, I can tell you why the most powerful country on earth with a military more expensive than all other countries combined can't find and defeat a 6' 4" lunatic with a rag around his head and can't defeat a country the size of California that doesn't even have a military.
It's because Franklin Roosevelt was a Democrat and had the knowledge, experience and commitment to put together a military organization practically from scratch that was able to defeat the two most formidable military organizations in the world, the German and Japanese armies.
It's because George Bush is a Republican who only follows his Republican ideology and delusions and can't put together a military that can defeat a country with no military that he's been waging war against longer than it took Roosevelt to defeat both the Germans and the Japanese.
Carafano goes on to declare, "Our tactics and technology are now so calibrated and surgical that it's (sic) no longer necessary to devastate entire cities to secure a decisive victory for freedom. Fighting war in a more humane way isn't cheap."
No, Mr. Carafano, what George Bush does is devastate entire countries like Iraq instead of just devastating cities. Fighting a war that kills more than a million innocent civilians and 4000 US soldiers for no reason and to no purpose at all is the definition of inhumane. All wars are inhumane. Commbining war and humane in the same sentence is something only a Republican can do. Its evidence of dementia.
Mr. Carafano, I would like to hear you name one, just one, only one, of those cities where George Bush has "secured a decisive victory for freedom." Come on, Carafano, just one. Well? I thought not.
Some of your Republican compatriots in the Bush regime, such as Condi Rice and Bush's generals, have referred to our "successes" and how we are "succeeding" in Iraq, which you have not taken the opportunity to brag about, at least not in this paean to the brilliance of George Bush. Calling the absolute disaster that is George Bush's war on Iraq a success is beyond description.
I would think that even you would come to realize that killing a million innocent people and the destruction of their country, leaving four million homeless and untold numbers wounded and maimed and their family members killed is not a success. It takes a totally psychotic mind to come up with the description of success for inflicting that kind of horror on any country.
